  • Thanks OP! but you need to be a member to buy right?

    • +1

Nope, you just get a discount as a member. You can still purchase if you're not a member

      • you just get a discount as a member.

so you don't get 70% off unless you're a member?

  • Lots of good dirt

    2nd hand ???

  • +1

I'll have a look, thanks OP!
Something I noticed from when the Macquarie was moving is it had a lot of discounts but nothing was worthwhile. Hopefully this is different.

  • If anybody is in-store, can you scan the shelves for any property valuation textbooks?

    • +3

Spent 30 Mins looking for books, there was about 1 or 2 property books there. I was mainly looking for science books but they still have so many politics/policy/economics books all for $2.

      • Cheers mate!

  • This is UTS co-op right? Not the one in Usyd?

    • Probably. think at the corner at the cross section, next to tall chocolate building. Theres 2 right? are u able to tell which one and if its closed now?

      • +4

It is, near building 1 (The giant poo coloured tower) and like right across the street from a Macca's/7 Eleven

    • I was at the Usyd co-op just yesterday, nothing except the usual on sale. They redid it all just before finals last semester, so they're probably giving UTS the makeover treatment now.

  • +2

Its for second hand books only. In small captions, it read excludes new textbooks
It illegal so if you are bothered, you can complain.

    • This is generally true. Does anyone have a pic of their advertising?

The co-op bookshop aka australian geographic, are extremely dodgy and regularly breach fair trading laws .
NEVER trust them. They tend to falsely advertise, and also take heaps of money from customers for goods that they don't even have in stock, nor will get into stock. ie. They only have a couple of a certain item, yet keep selling online and taking people's money for goods they do not have, then make pitiful excuses such as "we are trying to fix this" and even told me "you can gave this 2nd hand display product, or you get nothing:, and it turned out the drone was missing correct blades and just crashed instantly .
I have made 2 purchases from them, Had to force paypal refund on both occasions .
First was with co-op bookshop, then over a year later, exact same thing happened basically, only was 'Australian Geographic' where they provided me with a 2nd hand 'display' model drone, without offering any discount whatsoever, and store pressured me to take used product, despite me explaining that I just want what I paid for (a new unopened and unused product) .
Terrible company. I would not have purchased from Australian Geographic had I known they were same company as co-op bookshop (which I found out when I rang to complain) ..
You can force them to give back your co-op bookshop membership fee also, if they rip you off on 1st purchase, as they did with me

  • Thanks OP! Got a few books really cheap. Its not just books they have headphones and other tech items available.
