Pretty sure this is not a discrete chip, just a 'good' integrated video chipset (shared RAM).

      • Yeah pretty sure you are right about that. Although the Sandy Bridge chips now have a pretty good GPU onboard, much better than AMD integrated stuff from what I've heard…

        • Perhaps better than this HD 5145, but the AMD integrated stuff is pretty amazing (I use a HD 4200 in my HTPC to decode anything I throw at it). The new Fusion platform is pretty fast too. At the very least it appears integrated graphics are finally improving beyond just hardware accelerated video decoding to something a little more powerful.

      • My mistake - xuqi pointed out it does have 512MB dedicated RAM. Probably can leverage system RAM too, but at least a half gig is dedicated.

  • According to Sony's website this model has 512MB DDR3 dedicated GPU memory.

  • Why are we still stuck in 2011 with 720 or 768 pixels?
