This is the best colour. The colour is not even available in Australia.

The first thing I look for in an external HDD is the colour.

        Racist.

We are in danger of being swamped by these yellow drives. They form ghettos and do not assimilate.

@kahn: Not to mention their strange file systems…

    Since when?

    • So lame, I didn't get CR yet for the PS4 I purchased!

    • It's the same for Cashrewards and ShopBack - you have to add items to cart after activating cashback or you won't get it, just trying to get the message out there as I got caught out myself

      • Never had that issue myself.

      • I did not know this. Might explain why so many cashbacks were missed.

I like to add everything to cart to finalize it all before clicking through.

  • And Warranty from amazon US?

    • Hmmm effectively a grey import so I wouldn't think so - not sure if theres a global warranty with WD

    Thanks for sharing, good price!

I'm guessing since they're WD though, that it probably isn't shuckable and has the USB board soldered, possibly with encryption, making it more susceptible to pernament failure than a Seagate (which are usually shuckable and don't have the board soldered or use encryption by default)?

Not certain on that, just want to confirm as it's usually the case.

    • Correct assumption.

WD don't like you opening it up and taking the drive out.

  • when you buy stuff from amazon US via Amazon AU, do you get AU warranty (ACL)? If it gets returned for warranty, do you have to wait for it to go all the way back to the US?

  • Is it possilble to price match in Harvey or JB hifi or officework ?

Has it ever been possible to price match something from the US?

Love the yellow! Currently have blue, orange and black. Makes it’s easy to tell them apart.

  • Even cheaper now, $141.79

  • How would this go being plugged into my router to access saved media files on my AppleTV?

  • I just bought this on a card that didn't have sufficient funds but it seemed to go through. Will I only be charged once it's shipped?

  • Personally, sending a mechanical hard drive via post / courier from the US… just sounds like a $140 dollar dead on arrival door stop with a pain in the arse returns process.

Just interested, how do you think they normally get here? Seeing as though they aren't manufactured in Australia

  • Whats Gerry Harveys?

    Out of stock anyway…

    Says 180 now.

    • $150.61 + $10.66 Delivery
