Can parents use their children's free NRMA Roadside Assistance memberships on parents' cars?
On their website it seems that under the benefits of their coverage there's a personal part which states "Personal coverage - Regardless of what vehicle you’re in, or whether you're a driver or a passenger, we’ll always be there to help."
As someone who signed up for this when I was a learner I was entered into their 'system' and recently when I changed my car insurance over to NRMA (even though I had never been with them before) I got a 10% returning member discount. So could be beneficial to sign up your son/daughter anyway.
My daughter got only a year.. she is 16 years and 7 months
They will call you up as soon as this expires to try sign you onto a paid membership.
