  • Assume the warranty is as per NEW products since these aren't second hand or refurbished ????

They are 2nd hand and have been returned by customers, they've just removed the reference to it in the open box definition. They haven't bothered to respond to previous posts asking about this.

        Hi Guys,
We can confirm that the hardware is in brand-new condition. These items have been taken out of the box for reasons such as batch testing and have never been owned or operated by anyone other than a Swann technician.

        • fair enough imo.

I love the phrase "brand new condition".

Why be so evasive? Why not just say no, they are not brand new?

        • Yes and pigs do fly. Hold on omg omg I see one…

  • Obviously you want to evade the subject, but I will keep negging till you respond. Please refer to my post here:

Why has the definition of open box been changed to remove the line about being items returned by a customer?

Why does your warehouse need to open each product box to "inspect" or "test". I know of no other warehouse that does this on products that have come straight from the manufacturer.

Why have you refused to answer the question in the previous listing? If you are selling 2nd hand items or ex demo then you should be upfront about it not hide behind silly definitions.

We have recently revised the terms for open box and re-conditioned items on our website to more accurately represent the condition of the products.

We do not open all of the products which come into our warehouse. However we do open a certain percentage of each product upon delivery for batch testing and also for in house demos by our technical team. These are the products which are classed as open box.

    Also NOTE

Any shipping charges relating to returning faulty goods to Swannstore will be at purchaser's expense

"If it is necessary to return faulty goods to the place of purchase, the ACCC considers it reasonable for the seller to pay appropriate freight costs"

      • wow, that is an interesting read. so online retailers could be forced to pay shipping to return faulty items?

        • I've done it before. Took a fair bit of effort though.

Also note that the amount you paid to get the item shipped to you in the first place (not just return shipping) should be part of your refund if you're getting a refund and not an exchange.

Can anyone find any information about warranties on their site ????

  • Today is a bad day to post ads, the last few have been negged and misleading. But this is beyond acceptable, especially coming from a reputable surveillance store. Just made a bad name for yourself…

  • this sales rep guy sounds dodgy- most smaller stores etc alawys try to make you pay for shipping returns - the answer is dont buy from them.

  • How about some example images or videos to demonstrate the picture quality available with this camera?

  • Isn't this the regular price that this camera has been on sale for some time as a open box unit. Hardly a new bargain.

There is a growing band of people who are saying "I will neg you because you did something in the past…and I will keep negging you in the future because of it." IMHO that is just poor form and not grounds for a neg particularly given some of you will employ this tactic for such minor issues like the rep didn't reply to me. Not many online sites that are flawless even best in class stores like Amazon make mistakes. Does that mean we should neg all the crud blu ray deals people post?

This comment doesn't relate to just this deal but more of an observation of the trends on Ozbargain. Some of you really can't be pleased. I noticed people even complain about freebies. This wasn't the Ozbargain I lurked on for so long which I eventually joined because of the quality of the community.
