Toilet Suite + Installation $329 @ Bunnings

300

Did you miss out on the Aldi $299 toilet + install? Were you that salty old grandpa who gave me the evils as I walked out with my flash toilet and you clearly didn't because you were too slow? Well now you can stop being salty and pick up a near identical model plus installation for $329 at Bunnings.

Not viewable on their website but I've seen it at two stores in WA, East Vic Park and Cannington. Plenty of boxes were available at both.

Added bonus: unlike Aldi toilets, this toilet is compatible with both S & P trap configurations.

      • Had to make a quick dash… 😉

Saw the Aldi one in store and the toilet looks very cheap though so gave it a pass.

    • Did you say pass or was that a typo ??

      • Pass urine.

          Lucky your username isn't pissingred

Unlike the Aldi deal, you can select any compatible toilet and pay for the toilet + $275 for fixed price install and removal (Aldi deal was + $30 to remove the old one)
Pay in-store and then book via the bunnings web-site

Only downside, is the installer used "Silicone" to secure the loo, not the cement, and the four holes are left exposed. Could have at least filled with silicone. Checked online and apparently only the older plumbers still use the cement method.
I have been meaning to call up Bunnings to check if that is correct.

      Yep, Silicone is the norm.

    • It more than just silicon. They all have bolts that secure the loo…Also $275 to install a loo is OTT… shouldnt take more much more than than an hour to do for someone qualified….. It took me a couple including removal and Im no plumber….

      • Yeah i just used my plumbing manual (youtube) and did it over a couple hours too lol

  • Toilet only $74, I will install two my self and save $510.

    • Ignore

    • You can, but it’s illegal (unless you’re a licenced plumber).

      • +1

right so it's not illegal then

      • +1

Really? Didn't know when my dad and I changed one a few months ago.

        • Yeah I don’t really know why a lot of people don’t seem to know that, some of what you can’t do is a bit stupid with the rules but sadly in Australia we always have to cater to the lowest common denominator - https://www.domain.com.au/news/what-not-to-diy-with-plumbing…

          @Porthos:
Yeah, that's annoying. But at least with plumbing, unlike amateur electrical work, a mistake isn't likely to burn your house down.

@Russ: but may get you in the shit :P

  • Hmm. My current toilet is leaking. Replaced all the seals. Can see where it is dripping at the back but can't seem to get it to stop.. Might be cheaper to do this deal than it would be to hire a plumber to repair my old one!

Beware the Ozbargain "that's illegal" brigade

    • inside or outside?

    • I had a similar problem. Replacing the cistern and it stopped. I think it was around $80. I think it was only another few dollars for a complete new toilet though.

  • I found a great plumber who did excellent jobs for me a few times. He charges $154 first hour and $88 thereafter. He could change a toilet within an hour the way he worked. So, why not find a decent plumber and keep it for a leaky day?
He's in Melbourne SE, PM me if you want to give him a try.

Is your plumber's name James by any chance? ;)

We were quoted $300 just to repair a leaky toilet by replacing the cistern.

Then we saw this in Bunnings and decided to give it a go. Bunnings uses HiPages to post your job to nearby plumbers and before we left the carpark had a call from a plumber already. (We had a helpful Bunnings staff fill in the details for us but normally you would fill it in at home). He was very professional and did a good job changing the toilet.

Obviously the toilet itself is not a top model but it does the job :)

    • Lol …does the job💩

    • Hope it flushed

  • Toilet suite is only $70

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/shaw-mason-wels-4star-s-p-trap-t…

I think it’s another MASTERS refugee product.

    • So for $70 are these completely horrible?

  • I'm a bit puzzled - "compatible with both S & P trap configurations", and for the S-trap configuration, the piping position is "adjustable". How is it adjustable, does this toilet use a rubber hose for the outlet connection?

    • +1

I got one installed that was S&P compatible, it will have an adapter like a big "?" that converts the P to S, the adjustable part is that the plumber then can saw part of the adapter to fit your toilet, you should measure the distance from the center of your outlet to the wall to be within the specified range on the box ortherwise you will have to buy different adapter from your plumber and in my case it cost $75 😟
Also if the base of your new and old toilet are not the same, you will be left with an ugly hole in your rest room or need to pay for re-tiling as it is not part of what you paid for.

      • Thanks, that makes sense. Good point about the tiling, I hope I can find one with a larger "footprint" than my current one.

  • Hi All, I bought this one on 21 July, register with HiPages.com.au to get a plumber to installed it.
Then someone (the plumber) texted me. He tried to force me to do the installation during weekday.
I told him Im not in a rush, but i prefer to do it on saturday.
He also asked if he needs to take away the old toilet seat?
Anyway, despite all the drama, he told me that he will do the installation on sat 11 august.
But suddenly i just got a text again today saying, he's sick and not available for tmrw.
I want to ask if i can get a different plumber to do my installation?
