  • It's only 44 days so not my taste but like to hear the opinion of others here

      • Not any more . Now it's 16K per month for 5 months. 80K total

        • so 80k points per year or flat out?

Be careful with this card. So many spend exclusions for bonus points and normal points earnings. With rego, water, council rates and all gov/ semi government excluded id give this one a miss. I had to go to FOS to get the bonus points honored.

    • OzBargain favourite ANZ Black Frequent Flyer/Rewards has government exclusions too. I'd say it is fairly standard these days.

I move through pretty much all the cards, Virgin is next level! The Qantas equivalent of this Citibank based product has no exclusions for the bonus points.

  • Nice find, my anz points have been deposite, so time to cancel that and apply for this.

  • Note. You can apply for balance transfer within 3 months of account opening. So you can still get points first then do a transfer. Just need to time it right.

  • Fyi the month is statement month and not calendar month. Got stung on my last month but they credited one with a "once off".

  • Are the government exclusions only for bonus points or even earning points in general?

No app would make it harder to manage the card. I might have to rethink. Problem is there aren't many options to get velocity bonus points at this level apart from AMEX.

  • Hi All.

I know it says new customers only.

But if I have last held (and cancelled) this card over 2 years back, has anyone managed to still get the bonus points in a similar scenario?

    Thanks.

    • Any update on this. I had a virgin card I cancelled a few years ago and cant find specific definition of "new" customer.

      • I signed up for this card (after 24 months of cancelling the original one) and received the bonus 60k points over 3 months with the new card too.

        • Thanks for the tip

  • For those already holding this card and looking at cancelling - I called up last week to cancel as I'm now up to the first full year annual fee being due and the card has a low earn rate, plus I just received the ANZ rewards adventures card.

The person on the other end waived the annual fee, so now I ended up with a $129 flight voucher for free. Not bad if you're already planning a domestic trip!
