    • but these voucher codes are only known by very frugal/tech savy people

The general population just buy without knowing if there is a code or not.

      • We are becoming more educated. I guess the ABC's consumer series has helped.
10 years ago pretty much no one knew we had Trade Practice Legislation and believed the manufacturers and retailers set the rules, This is not the case today. But, generally people could not be bothered. You know? Like Germany in the 1930's.

    • +1

I always seek a discount code for eBay purchases, and if I fail to find one I generally abandon the item until a new code offer comes out.

  • +2

FYI, Robins Kitchen and House share the same stock, so that’s why these two stores always come together when these 20% off sale events pop up : )

  • +1

    PrIcE JaCk

    • Sorry, Jack's value is so great it can not be put into numeric terms.

  • Well done OP.

  • I hope TA is working hard on the next negotiation with eBay to come up with a 20% site wide.
All these 20% off selected stores are teasing us

  • are these ebay stores crazy? Why are the iphonex coming in @ $1,819.00?

    LOL

    • +3

It's called the "Ebay Pricejack Guarantee".

No deal - I was looking at Futu_Online this afternoon for 8TB NAS drives and saw they just jacked up the price for this fake sale - it's cheaper to buy at Mwave than their price

    • +1

You're new. Not much of a rind on you..

      • what a cheesy saying!

      • I like to remember what my father taught me. That at one point or another, we were all new to this world.

    • Gotta have to say, MWave does a very good job of having a balance between having good prices and stock/service/website.

      • With regard to the stock (variety at least), one thing I've noticed is MWave have partners, for example they resell Jaycar stuff under their brand.

        • Jaycar doesnt have a brand.
99% of their stuff is altronics.

        • Oh serious? I hadn't noticed - I only buy computer parts from them. I've been looking at some lately and they're not actually more expensive than MSY (or even the cheapest stores for individual parts via au.pcpartpicker), and I'm willing to pay the extra few dollars for the convenience of not having to drive all around town.

        • @MasterScythe: Well, not the pertinent part of my point, but interesting nonetheless, I'd thought the ones behind the curtain were Electus Distribution who wholesale the same stuff and who I've dealt with when I worked in a nonprofit.

  • how does one check recent price changes through ebay on items?

    • +1

You can try the "Completed Items" search option, but it will only show you what has been bought recently.

  • +2

get ebay to price-match store price and beat by 5%, get free shipping
    cancel ebay plus
    make new ebay account

I can be a douchebag too ebay

  • can sydneytec be trusted to accept returns on monitors, for bad ips glow or whatever?

    • when did you buy the monitor

  • SEARCH LINK with an error

    • -1

Search link fixed, and with Line Link Online added. 😊

      • This includes stores not in the sale e.g. computer_alliance.

  • Would anyone know if any of these store do a micro SD high endurance that would go with my viofo dashcam? Cheers

    • Why don't you just pick one up from MSY?
      64gb for $44

Perfect timing to screw me over. Got a measly 5% off pc byte last night. eBay can stick their penny5 in their black hole. Now I see 20% off. feeling I’m getting jacked off by eBay.

    • +1

Haha that's ridiculous. You bought right in between the previous 15% sale and this 20% sale… whyyy?!

      • I bought a micro sd for my Swann cctv $199 ozbargain deal. For some reason it won’t recognise wd external Hdd although their manual states it can use external Hdd. It came with 32GB card but it gets full in a week.
Just bad timing on my behalf with pc byte, but I’ve had a cracker with Dan Murphy’s and ozbargain eBay codes.

    • If the other posts about PC Byte pricejacking are correct, 5% off yesterday might've been better than 20% off today.

  • +1

How come none of these search links work for me? I will search for a product and it will search all of ebay?

  • can we get a search link?

looking for the google pixel 2 xl

lowest i have seen was $922 at picksmith on sunday night but didnt want to buy because it will be shipped from hong kong

  • So if I were to buy a Mavic Air on say Futu_Online right now, could I pay for it with the code tomorrow?

    • I think that only works for Auctions. Fixed priced items usually require immediate payment.

      • I thought if you select Buy Now you agree to purchase the item, but you can pay for it later

        • When you agree to purchase the item, you're also agreeing to the price at that time.

        • @HighAndDry: That is true, and I can understand that. There is still a section to apply a code when actually paying for it afterwards though

  • +1

Only price jack and no deals comments.

    • everytime, people just flock up and vote like crazy when they see a deal on ebay, even if its 5%

  • Another price jack event coming up, first was The Good Guys

  • Any hard drive deal? Want something like 5/6/8TB

  • Thanks. Looking for an iphone 8 and nvme samsung 1TB. Anyone?

  • I think with these selective ebay store sales, the store has to pay a percentage of the sale. Hence the "pricejack". So although it says 20% off it's probably closer to 10% off.

  • I want to buy a Broadlink, any deals?

  • +2

These aren't even worth it anymore. Lucky if you get 2% off normal price.

  • 10:04am and trying to checkout before the price jacking happens but coming up with the error:
This code can't be applied to your order.

    • Prices have already been jacked up.

    • I get the same message: "This code can't be applied to your order."

Have you figured out why it wasn't working for you? Has it started working now?

  • +1

    Same, code not working

  • Not working on PC byte. Anyone have any luck? Getting error message when inputting code

    • I'm getting the same, not working with PC Byte

  • Hmm same error with PC Byte. Wonder if anyone has tried other stores?

    • +2

PC Byte no longer listed in the T&Cs page.

    • bugger.

  • When I click on Pc byte in the list of participating stores it takes me to tech mall. So I'm wondering if they are run by the same people

    • +2

As far as I know, PC Byte also run PC Meal. I say this as when I’ve purchased from both stores in past, they both have the same address. Even google PC Meal comes up with PC Byte.

      • Interesting. Also confirmed over the phone that Pc byte runs Tech Mall. I bought an item a week ago from pc byte and wanted to repurchase it from tech mall with the 20% off code hoping they would agree to refund my first purchase. Unfortunately they wouldn't budge.

        • Wow, I guess by having multiple stores, one slightly more expensive, they corner the market and guide people to their other stores with the cheaper product and still get sales. Then people who have loyalty to a specific store, happy to pay higher prices because they feel one has better service etc, get duped as they are actually the same store, with the same service etc.

  • Tried buying something from PC Byte and it didn’t work, I think they pulled out !

Update: didn’t see the comments above about PC byte,

  • is shallothead included?, they have
20% off with code PICKITUP. Ends 9/7. T&Cs apply in their listings
but code not working, and not listed above

  • will 10% GST apply on top of those seller?
I remember buying from local australia seller which they supply tax invoice with the GST with it already.
Or will ebay exclude GST when checkout?

    • Is this joke?

      • ebay are randomly charging GST on some sellers and not others. tax dept said they don't know how to deal with the new legislation so it is up to ebay's whim.
eg tried buying a tripod head from Israel, ebay charge the GST(not the seller). I buy $300 worth of lights from a Chinese seller, with stock warehoused in Sydney and there is no GST charge.

        • I believe ebay charges 10% gst on item and shipping for items located overseas whereas goods located in Australia, they assume that gst has already been included and do not add it on a second time.

        • @bluedufflecoat: I am pretty sure that ebay have access to who their merchants are, and where they are located, regardless of the geographical location of products.

        • @Major Mess: for sure, but that's the assumption they make which drives their gst application rules.

        • @bluedufflecoat: It is conceivable that ebay will be keeping a share of the GST collected. The tax office said they have no way of sorting any of it.

When talking with the ATO, considering neither the ATO or buyer are able to verify anything, the best solution we could come up with was to try and contact the seller outside of ebay to complete the transaction. If they then provide an ABN, you pay GST. If not don't worry about it. ebay are being dishonest in not providing trackable data on the buyer's GST payments for verification, so there is no legal or moral line to cross.

It was also suggested to get around the $75k limit. That the seller could simply change who they trade as every week, or when required.

None of the search link provided seems to work.. its showing items for which the code doesnt apply.. does any one have the same problem?

  • any recommendation for winter quilts? wool or down feather?

    • +1

I've bought a merino wool quilt from linen-dreams, I'm happy with it.

    • +2

I have wool, down and silk quilts. Depending on your budget the 100% Hungarian down is arguably the best. The more down the lighter the quilt is while still providing the required warmth, which is measured in blankets. The silk filling quilt I have is wonderful but only a summer weight, I have read some reviews that it can be purchased also suitable for winter. The wool quilt while warm is heavier and just not luxurious or snugly. There is lots of information on specialised websites. If you buy a good down quilt it will last for many years. In Europe these are passed down in the family.

    • -1

+1 for pubic hair / warm and free because we are the true ozpubgainer

  • Is $819 a decent price for the acer predator xb271hu

    • +1

$719.20 here: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Acer-Predator-XB271HU-27-LED-LCD… (ignore the product images that show the 5% offer, it's definitely part of this 20% off offer [PICKITUP]).

Don't forget to buy 7x $100 eBay gift cards first from Woolies using discounted WISH cards for effectively another $35 off (or $55 if buying the WISH cards with AMEX Platinum Edge).

Factor in eBay Plus Flybuys points (1 per $) and total effective price comes out as low as ~$661.
