4-Pack GP Recyko AAA/AA Rechargeable Nimh Batteries - $9.99 @ DSE

390

DSE is selling these quality rechargeables for $9.99, down from $14.99.

I was looking for some budget rechargeables and found these at DSE down $5 to $9.99. They scanned at $14.99 but the girl didn't take much convincing to match the online price (which I think they should anyway).

A quick check of Candlepower forums shows up some extremely favourable reviews - with a couple of reviewers saying they were comparable to the venerable Eneloops.

  • they're decent batteries too

  • Got any links for the reviews?

    • just experience I've used Sonys, Vartas, Eneloops and these and imho these are better than the Sony's and Vartas, but not as good as the Eneloops

    • double post

    • Added links to the OP.

      • I like the reviews

  • Good deal. These are comparable to regular Sanyo Eneloops. I'm tempted to get some even though I've got more LSD NiMH than I have uses for!

  • These are good, but eneloops are better. I'll buy some though :p

  • +1

been using these for a while, and theyre fantastic. truly LSD, and also take abuse.
been using them in remote controls

  • So do these hold their charge for 6 months like the Eneloops?

  • can i use the Eneloop charger to charge these NiMH batteries ?

    • -1

Yes. but need to work the actual time duration to charge

  • would these work well in a panasonic cordless phone?

    • You could probably make or get someone to make a battery-pack to suit using these (as long as the original battery pack uses AA NiMH cells).

    • +1

And yes, I think they would work well. Likely better than the originals.

  • Looks like a good deal.

If I hadn't just ordered a bunch of AA's and AAA's from http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_listCategoriesAn… I'd be all over this. It worked out at AU$1.45 per battery including shipping, but it may take a little while to get here.

    • Good review, but the postage kills it unless you buy a lot of it or some special batteries.

      • Yeah the reviews look good, and they are LSD too. I bought with some others to share shipping cost. 38 AA's and 34 AAA's which kept it just under 2 kilos for $25.58 shipping.

  • What is the actually rating of these battery packs?

The DSE web site states Battery Capacity 250 mAh which is probably incorrect. But the picture shows 2100 mAh on the package.

They also have AAA 4 pack for the same price that are listed as 820 mAh but picture shows 850mAh.

    • The AAAs I bought are rated at 850mAh.

  • Better than dealextreme. ;-X

    • Don't think so, like are the instore purchase matching online DSE price? and are they better than these? http://www.dealextreme.com/p/gsyuasa-enitime-pre-charged-200…
Cause I reckon enitime > GP

Unless you consider they giving you warranty or refund etc. GP are not LSDs…

      • Instore (Canberra Civic) is matching online price for the 4-pack AA cells and the 4 AAA cells with charger. These ones have stated 85% charge after 12 months storage. There's about eight more of the 4-pack AA cells and four of the charger bundles.

  • Can you use the Enelope slow charger on here a few weeks ago to charge these?

  • +4

None in store around my area, order some via post! Thanks.
The code "High5" takes 5% off!

  • $10 for the batteries and postage was $6.95! :( Needs free shipping, but I might also try in store on the way home.

    • most stores are out of stocks!

    • -1

It is $5.95 postage If you order 12 packs with 5% off code, it is free postage.

      • Max you can order online is 5 packs, but with 5% off, it's still OK.

  • -1

    No stock, no deal!

  • Are these really better than DX? http://www.dealextreme.com/p/gsyuasa-enitime-pre-charged-200…

These are Japan cells but made in China not sure about GP, I think they are a HK brand

These LSDs definately better than GP recyko normal AAs

    • in 2004, I got like 20x 2300 GP batteries + charger in HK.

now 16 are still going strong, 4 died

its a HK brand made in China.

Funny how GP, Energizer, etc sell 1hr chargers in HK like 6 years ago, yet in OZ most still sell 6-8hr chargers??

      • same here bought fast charger and 10 GP batteries in 2005 from HK. Only 2 survived. Bought 10 Panasonic at the same time all still working.
IMHO, I would stay away from GP.

I heard that slow charge is better for you batteries.

  • so what's the deal.. are these LSDs or not??

    • Yep they are LSD. DSE on George St, Sydney CDB had quite a few left.

  • I have a Duracell Battery Charger (model# CEF80AU). It says it can charge NiCd or DURACELL NiMH rechargeable batteries only! So my question is can I recharge these GE Recyko batteries using the charger or do I have to buy a new GE Recyko charger?

  • Could I charge these in my cordless phone sitting in the recharger station or would I need to get a separate charger?

  • Just bought some from online since there's no stock in shops around. Hope the delivery will be OK as I had a problem with my last purchase with them (a TV) - and just saw another complaint within the forum. Anyone here have good experience within their online orders?

    • I have a bad experience with the online team, did something wrong online at night, call them up early morning 9am to cancel the order, spoke to the manager, insisted on nothing they can do anything about it once it put thru!! Only fixed up after sent a complaint email! But all good, I will keep buying from them, just make sure I know where to put the voucher code!

  • Free shipping now offered purchasing online when 3 or more packs are purchased. Don't forget to "High5"

    • free shipping is not working for me?

      • Not working here, either. I'll try to contact them.

        • I couldn't place an order either, the items would just not go into my basket, I tried to get the store to pricematch, as others have done here, but they said they couldn't if I didn't have a case# etc. Just making it very difficult obviously. Useless! anyway this was at highpoint homemaker centre in Victoria. USELESS!

  • Thanks for the heads-up d3ft. Just bought some in store. great batteries at a great price.
