Bloody annoying I can't see the deal on the site without having to sign up.

I like how they have a picture of the Gold Coast CBD even though this hotel is no where near it. For anyone looking to stay here note it's like 20 mins from surfers….

    • Deceptive. And still trying (can work around it editing CSS) to harvest email addresses to view the deal.

TravelZoo should be banned imo. Same old tricks every time.

Agreed. If we can't view it with no conditions attached then it shouldn't be on ozbargain.

    • The "Spa" room doesnt even have a spa in it by the pictures, its just a normal tub

  • "Sign up to see this fantastic deal."

I don't believe the display of deals can be gated. If I don't disclose my personal particulars your link redirects to the Travelzoo main page:

"Linking to a top-level website is often regarded as spam-like conduct and is not welcomed."

Furthermore your privacy statement indicates you share registered users personal information with third party entities for marketing and advertising purposes, and that these third parties mightn't have anything to do with the services you provide.

Essentially you're only offering this deal to Ozbargainers who are willing to have their information on-sold to random third parties.

    Hi all.

The reason Travelzoo 'gate' offers is because they are exclusive to Travelzoo members. You won't find this deal anywhere else in the market at this rate - but in order to book the deal, you do need to be a Travelzoo member. It's like any membership - you sign-up to a membership and in response you receive a benefit.

The benefit in this case is that you receive travel, hotel and entertainment deals verified as the best in the market. If they're not the best in the market, they won't be published on the Travelzoo website.

The full offer details are included in the synopsis above - so there's nothing being hidden here. If you don't want access to these deals, then that's a shame, but then you don't sign-up.

If you do decide to sign-up - then great. You can access the deal, get a great rate on a hotel stay. You've also joined over 670,000 Australians (and over 28 million members worldwide) who trust Travelzoo and who love to receive the best travel deals on a weekly basis.

Hope this helps explain Travelzoo's unique offering and the reason behind the requirement to sign-up to receive not just great deals, but 'the very best' deals in the market.

    • Thanks for explaining your point of perspective for fishing for emails. I'll neg every deal for any vendor where I have to sign up to view a deal first.
