Dates do not seem to be right but otherwise it seems to be a good deal.

  • +2

    Sorry Op..Fixed Already

    • +8

Are you apologising to yourself? ^_^

  • +2

    cheapest dyson with hepa

    but only $ 130 away from V8 with 20%

    • Can you provide a suggested retails/ or other link, I get $999 on the Dyson V8 Absolute Plus. Which does do a good 40 mins.

    • V8! V8!
By my deeds I honour him

  • -1

Looking at the details, it doesn't come with motorised head?

    • +2

Clearly states that it does, copied and pasted from the listing, "Narrow motorised cleaner head. Cleans carpets and hard floors."

      • Cool… :)

    • "What's In The Box" further down the page in the description.

    • I have one. Comes with both a motorised head and a soft head.

  • What is the main difference with this one at $319 on their website?
    https://shop.dyson.com.au/vacuum-cleaners/handstick/dyson-v6…

    • I think extra attachments

    • hepa

    • +1

from what I can see a few more cleaning heads (Soft Roller Cleaner Head & Mini Motorised Tool) and HEPA filtration

  • I've got both V6 basic and V6 fluffy. The motorised heads cannot be fitted to a different machine.
    Do I need an attachment?

    • The motorised head will work on the fluffy but not on the base v6 model.

      • I can't fit v6 base model's carpet head on my fluffy :(
Non motorised heads fit can fit all

        • I believe the “direct drive head” will work on the fluffy and absolute. But the motorised head that comes with the base v6 wont.

  • I cant apply code, constantly get error "We ran into a problem. Please try again later."

    any idea?

    • +7

Do you still have your country in addresses set to the US or the UK from utilising another eBay deal?

      • +1

great pick up! i indeed forgot to set it back to AU.

        thanks!

    • I applied successfully just now.

  • +3

I'd like the battery to last a bit longer than 20 mins. It takes me at least 30 mins to vacuum. And what happens when the battery can't hold charges anymore.

  • +1

Probably the cheapest it's ever been.

That's right. I bought on the Big W deal a few weeks ago and I believe that was the last cheapest at $399 so this is a good one.

  • Great deal. Paid $350 for the animal version from big dubs.

  • -1

Title says $350.10, but body says 389?

    • +1

Prices are before and after applying 10% discount code.

  • How much better is the V10 compared to the V6?

    • I've been contemplating the V10 for months, and the V8, but one thing that really turned me off the V10 was the size of it in handheld mode with the inline canister - substantially larger and I could see footwells in the car being awkward. That said, the extra 50% airwatts over the V6 on max would probably be handy for the carpets typically in cars.

To me these sticks are about regular, more cosmetic cleaning and convenience. Less time per session, but daily instead of weekly. So battery life or power wasn't a big concern. And $350 is a reasonable price for that convenience. I still plan on using the Miele corded for the deeper vacuum every fortnight or so. Bit scared however I will stop doing that if the floor looks clean.

      • Exactly. It's so easy to do a quick clean with one of these, that you end up using them every day. I really hate using a corded vacuum cleaner now.

    • I noticed starting from v8 (or v7?) upwards, the noise is much much quieter. Something to consider

  • +5

my V10 just arrived today.. can't wait to use it tonight :) .. my first cordless dyson, going to be a lot easier than taking out the bigball when i need to just clean up the kids miss after dinner

    • +1

See if it sucks your kids up

    • Likewise, I haven't been so excited about cleaning since my Xiaomi arrived.

My dc35 has served me well.

      • The cleaning robot? Does it work well on carpet floors?

  • +1

The price people pay for a name. Wow.

    • +13

Name can only be earned with quality 😊

    • +1

The name's the biggest issue I have with it actually. Generally I think their stuff is crap.

$350 is a reasonable price however for something like this that gets well reviewed.

      • +4

Somewhat agree with you that the price for new ones are not that justifiable
But at this price it’s a great deal

    • I don't rate the Dyson V6… and I replaced the battery with a 5Ah 6s LiPo for 20mins on turbo. I think $100 is a fair price for it.

      • So you put a minimum of $85 battery in it, possibly a lot more deepending on quality/current draw capabilities in it, but you only value it as a $100 vacuum for the whole product battery included?

        • Na, I had/have a spare Zippy 5Ah 25c 6s LiPo, also it only cost me $40 5 years ago… way better than the unbranded 6x18650's that came with it. I've got 3 more of those batteries.
I have noticed LiPo are getting more and more expensive every year though :(
As it comes I reckon $100 without accessories, manufacturing cost is ~$20.
Btw if you do the mod, you can't charge it from the vac, and you must connect the BMS without the balancing wires… has some logic in there to prevent you using just the voltage.

  • Crap should have waited for this one for the extra attachments

  • Bought this a year ago, really useful as we have both carpet and wooden floors.

  • Does this have a V6 engine in it?

    • Yep but I bought the V10 much faster.

      • +1

        Did you paint it red?

      • +1

Does it come with Twin Turbos?

      • much faster at draining the battery

      • Did this include speed holes or was this purchased after the purchase?

  • +1

How does this compare to the Xiaomi?

  • Oh man, I just picked up a V7

  • Among V6, 7, 8, 10, which of them are relatively easy to replace battery? Thanks

    • v6,7,8 are the same build - they're just using different batteries (i.e. v7&8 batteries last a few minutes longer than v6). so in terms of replacement procedure, it would be the same. IMO, not worth getting v7 or 8 for that price. If you want to future proof, get v10, otherwise go v6 to get the job done at a more efficient price.

      • +2

Can you replace the battery with a higher capacity? Like V8 in the V6?

      • There is more differences than just the batteries between the V6 and V8..? That's just flat out false information.

  • +6

I love ozbargain. buy first, think later. Fear of missing out is greater than anything.

  • For someone not wanting to spend so much for a dyson… What would people recommended?

    • +8

      get a dyson

    • If you want to spend less than the cost of a Dyson, buy anything less expensive than a Dyson?

If you're asking for similar performance at a cheaper price, you won't find anything. If there were other options, people wouldn't pay so much for a Dyson lol…

    • +1

If you're after a stick vacuum a Dyson is the go to. I've been very pleased with my DC59 Animal that I've owned since release. However, I've owned a Dyson upright ball for the past 10+ years and have since changed to a Miele Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog and wouldn't go back to a Dyson for a corded vacuum as the Miele is far superior, especially for Border Collie hair!

      • +1

So half the thread is people shitting on dyson…. And the other half says get one? Haha fudging ozb.

I've got a meile bagged unit but something like this would be great for quick cleanups

      • -1

We have the Animal. That Miele is small! And you're saying it's better for animal hair? Does it have a brush thing for the head?

        • Don't understand the neg, but that's an actual question. I'm interested in the Miele.

We spent about $400 on a cordless dyson (NEVER AGAIN) and the motorized head stopped working after about a year.
Contacted dyson and they gave us the run around to clean the head and all the connections and crap which I already had done.
Dyson wouldn't fix it or even take a look.
So I pulled it all apart to see what the problem was (assuming it was full of dirt) and it was clean. Truns out the motor in the head had blown.

    • +2

Dyson wouldn't fix it or even take a look.

Don't they come with a 2 year warranty? Did you try complaining to fair trading, etc

    • +3

I've had Dyson's repaired over the years, some in warranty and some out, and have never had a problem nor have they ever given me the run around.

    • Same as what other have replied, I've bought 4 Dysons and one of them (v8 absolute) had a big dent on its stick when it arrived. Took photo and sent to Dyson, no questions asked and the new stick arrived 3 days later. They didn't even ask us to return the stick.

    • Mine busted 2 years after purchase, and I complained a lot on facebook and they sent me a new motorised head. So I recommend you try social media :)

    • In contrast to your experience, I had a DC24 upright, where the motorhead stopped working after a bit over a year. Called up support and explained that it was out of warranty. They said to just send it in anyway, 'coz "usually we're good with that sort of thing". Sent it in, got quoted some exorbitant cost for repairs, but then I explained that the person on the phone gave me the impression that it'd be waived, and voila: free repair.

It was a really good job too. Thing came back to me with all the parts either replaced or cleaned to the point of looking like brand new. My only (nitpicking) gripe was that I sent it back in the original box, but they returned it to me in some generic cardboard affair LOL.

  • I bought one of these during the big w deal. They’re great and work much better than my old Dyson corded.

Bought another one for mum now.

    Highly recommend these.

    • lucky i missed the bigw one, all out of stock , bought online on bigw website then got refunded next day.
ended up with v8 animal at $479, happy with it.

  • Thats cheap.. But i already got one :(

    • That's cheap.. But I already got two :)

  • -3

What's the difference between that and this?

    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/home-appliances/all-cleaning/dyson…

    • If you even attempted to read the other comments or bothered trying to compare them yourself you'd see that this one has a few more cleaning heads (Soft Roller Cleaner Head & Mini Motorised Tool) and HEPA filtration compared to the one on JB.

Looks like its better to buy 3 dyson v6 than 1 dyson v10.

  • code has expired

  • @OP Edit post with new code Punchy

  • The extension tube wont fit the vacuum. All the heads fit perfectly. The tube has a 2mm deeper plastic in the 'W' mold surrounding the metal contacts. The heads with the shallower plastic fit perfect. 75m wait on customer line meant no service tonight. Anyone seen ?

  • Dyson make good vacuums with poor batteries. They should redesign their product so that you can swap batteries as you do with garden and power tools. My Dyson battery started to slow down within a year, it went back to their workshop, now nearly 2 years the battery barely last 5 mins. Dyson should be ashamed.
