he is a bot, uses LG AI engine used in TV

Possibly dumb question, but does it have wifi?

    • Definitely not dumb this could be the reason why it is so cheap.

  • Obviously these aren't polished OLED monsters, but what are they really like?

Don't care about the sound or smart features. Does it make you dizzy when there is fast moving images? Are they better than a high end 5 or 10 year old Sony lcd?

    • I have a FHD JVC TV. Good for its price, I prefer the Kogan 4k TV I got for around the same price.

      • Do you use either for gaming?

Have a friend looking for a cheap gaming TV and this is around the price he wants to spend.

        • +1

I use both for gaming. The Kogan 4k looks HEAPS better

  • I love how they advertise "dynamic contrast" and no sign of actual contrast…

Waiting for the comments about Hertz.

What an earth do rental cars have to do with TV's?

I saw this in person a few weeks ago.. it was bad like super washed out and no definition.

Was a hard pass for me even for a kids room I would day no haha lol.

    • I have seen 3 different branded 55" 4k tvs next to each other in BIGW and they all didnt look very good

      • Pretty much my thoughts also. Even for my most worstest enemy I would not wish this horrible despicable pain upon thee.

Be weary when buying cheap 'smart' TVs. I've seen a lot of cheap smart TVs and while they aren't too bad on the surface, what they don't tell you is they are often SLOW

Menu Navigation, Start Up time, Network connection, even channel changing, all frustratingly slow.

More often than not you would be better off finding a dumb TV and buying a Chromecast to plug in.

It's a very average looking picture, the processor isn't great on these for fast-moving images, but what do you expect for the price? It's still a good deal if you are on a budget.

I bought the non-smart version for ~$383 a couple of weeks back from Big W.

It’s a Samsung panel, nice sharp image with decent colours. Ran a few 4K demos and they looked great, Netflix at 1080p scales well also. Not an amazing TV, but great for the price. I’m assuming this would be similar if not the same.

    • 55" size? That's a great price!

        Yep. JVC model no LT-55N780.

Was only one in stock at the store I purchased it at, so didn’t think it would be a good idea to post it as a deal.

        • How is the backlight bleed and overall colour correctness and sharpness or just picture quality in general.. is it washed out?

I was thinking of picking one up from ebay or a similar model for a cheap and easy pc monitor in the attic.. so dim lighting during the day and pitch black at night.

Have you tried gaming on it, interested to know if it might have chroma subsampling 4:4:4 and what its input lag might be around at? if near or below 30 ms should be good, if over 70-80 ms might be a no deal for me.
