Low Profile Car Ramp - $40.80 @ Taurus Legend (eBay)

Original 20% Off Selected Stores on eBay Deal Post

If you bought a Costco or SCA jack and have issues getting it underneath the front to the jacking point, car ramps is a must.
There are cheaper options to raise your car such as:
- get a few bricks from the backyard
- get the hand jack out of the car to jack up one side before putting the trolley jack underneath
- any other innovative ideas you may have….

but as a cheap, light weight alternative, there is a low profile car ramp.
I had been looking at something similar 2-3 years ago and all I could find was Cusco, DTM, etc that wanted $100+.
Ended up ordering one on taobao, flew overseas, and lugged it back.

Was going through ebay and came across it and at $40.80 with the ebay deal, I reckon it's a pretty good price.
Looking at taobao now, it's 158RMB = AU$33 + freight so a $7.80 for local stock, I reckon that's on point.
If only these guys brought it in 2-3 years ago :(

  • Only 70mm raise? Need higher profile.

    • +1

it might not look like much but it enough for a jack to go under.
70mm but in reality since it's only the front that is getting raised and not the rear tyres, the front bumper is at a higher point than 70mm.

Anything higher would mean the front lip would probably hit the ramp before the wheels touch it

  • I just bought a set of caravan levelling ramps when SCA had them on sale. They do the trick for raising the front of my cars so that I can get my big Konchrome jack under them!

EDIT: Worth noting you should not contemplate working under any car unless it is on Australian Standard certified stands or ramps…

    • Oh those big plastic ones? I think Aldi has them on sale once in a while too.

I bought one of those from Aldi as thought it was cheap but returned it… the front lip hit it before the wheel touched it :(
Guess that's why it's designed for caravans ><

As for never getting under an Australian Standard stand, agreed…
But did ramps have AS standard? Didn't know that!

      • My front lip hits too. I made some wooden slices to go before the ramps and that gets around that problem. Except they slide a bit each time.

  • Bought thanks OP. I have the caravan ramps so I can roll my car out of the garage early in the morning without waking the housemate up in the room next to the garage. Works well except they slide out of place regardless of what I do (renting so can’t damage floor). These will hopefully combine well with the caravan ones (with modification of course) depending on how anti skid they are.

  • To minimumize sliding put old house carpet under ramps been doing it for a while and works well that is get carpet and cut to bit bigger than ramp
