    No SSD

    • Haha yeah NONE of these AIOs moderate cost ones seem to have an SSD! Even an entry level noncached SSD would be better than a hdd. It's driving me nuts.

  • Interesting review of the Inspiron 24 5000 on Dell's page. It's apparently slow to load facebook games when compared with an old XPS 8700… with 2TB of RAM!

This is my 5th Dell - and at age 60 (almost!), hoping it may be my last, although the way technology advances, it probably won't be the final desktop. I still have a Dell laptop as a backup, should anything go wrong. Sad to see the demise of my 64-bit Dell XPS 8700, with AMD Radeon R9 300 series display adaptor and 2TB RAM - yes, 2 terabytes! So, compared to that, this new pc does seem slow to do things - the loading of some games on Facebook seems to take forever!

I was reading through reviews to see if anyone had confirmed what the GPU was. It suggests it may be an RX560, though the specs say only integrated. Not sure the A10 has the RX560 integrated… Anyone know?

    • Not sure the A10 has the RX560 integrated… Anyone know?

The model number for the Inspiron 24 5000 is Inspiron 24 5475 (as confirmed in the URL).

There are 2 video options for the Inspiron 24 5475:
Integrated: AMD HD graphics w/ Shared system memory
      Discrete: AMD Radeon RX560 w/ 4 GB GDDR5

The Video options are shown below:
      http://www.dell.com/support/manuals/au/en/audhs1/inspiron-24…

The product listing mentions "AMD Integrated Graphic", with no option to change it. I guess the RX560 would only be available in more expensive models.

  • Is the Inspiron 24 3000 for $635 good value?

    Is it 'really' save $600.

I need a new pc, as my current one is 5 yrs old.

I just use it for web browsing, banking & for checking my shares. Don't play games.

    Any advice is appreciated.

I don't think it was ever worth $1299 (although that's what it originally listed for).

For the specs, I think it's realistically worth ~$800:
      - i5-7200U, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD, 24-inch Full HD display, NVIDIA GeForce 920MX, Dual Band Wi-Fi, Windows 10 Home, 1 Year InHome Service after Remote Diagnosis.

      For $635 (after cashback), I think it's a bargain.

It's pretty much buying a laptop with A bigger and better screen, and not being portable.

They contain laptop cpus and 5.4k rpm hdd which are used in laptops

For what you do, do you really need to upgrade? or maybe go for a cheaper laptop?
