I was thinking the same thing myself. I know the answer is legally you must use a licensed cabler. But this thing seriously looks like you just plug the cable into to it.
You can install it yourself if you are familiar with how phone cabling works. Most people we sell this to tend to do self installs. There is some basic documentation included with the filter though. We do however recommend a pro installs it though to ensure it is done correctly.
DODGY! its illegal to install these yourself! at last check there was something like a 10K fine.
you can blow a fuse at the exchange if you stuff it up.

i need four for my raid system, need to change the seagates drives as they don't raid overly well.
With the hard drives - best thing to do is email [email protected] and one of the guys there will get back to you. Just tell them you were asking about hard drives on Ozbargain and you want a price.
@warcom So I add the central splitter to my cart and it's $20 free postage, great! Then I add ACS 901E2+ ADSL 2+ Inline Filter/Splitter for $11 and it adds $9.95 postage.
If you're already posting it to me, surely a small filter wouldn't increase the postage costs? Do you not want to sell extra products to your customers with this deal?

Yeah, It's for my Mother. She's been having issues with her adsl, and I think her old filter has failed. Last time I was there I unplugged everything and just put the modem in and it fixed all the issues.

This filter does not have much information on how its installed. Can it be installed outdoors? I know the C10 central filter comes in weather proof housing and can be mounted on the outside of the house where the telephone line enters the building.
I'm not too familiar with standards etc, would this one be any better than the Telstra supplied C-One central splitter for ~3km cable lengths?

Yes, i installed a central splitter recently and went from 4Mbps to 10Mbps (also removing obsolete cables from the line as well)
I installed one and went from 12 to 2-3! I'm sure I did it correctly.

lol, nice… you use them instead of a inline filter for each phone, means that each phone jack is a normal line or a adsl line only rather than both, meant to give better results than using those cheap inline filters, eg hopefully you should get better connection rates..(should be about as good as the connection rate you get while you do an isolation test.)
