Incorrectly says 128GB in highlighted description?

    • Legend. Fixed, thanks :)

  • Wish there's i5 16gb & 256gb.

  • When are they going to come out with the true 8th gen mobile processors…

    • If you're talking about the 45 watt processors, theyre not gonna come to laptops this size at this price.

      • They’re 25 Watt. I7-8559U etc

  • +2

    Geez…Only 8gb!?!?!

    • +2

It's soldered onto the motherboard too.

Feels like we have been stuck choosing either 8Gb or 16Gb laptop configurations for over five years now.

  • Amazing. Thanks as always TA.

Probably one of the better Lenovo laptops you can buy. Much more premium build than their cheaper range while being very lightweight and still managing to have seriously good battery life.

  • any chances you can get a similar deal for the yoga 730? cheers

    • +3

Next on my list. Will try my best :)

you are a legend! unfortunately the amex deal expires tonight though. Anyway +1 for you

Wow what is good about this. Looks crazy overpriced compared to ASUS.

    • Like what? Some cheaply built laptop with no battery behind it?

Not to mention the atrocious warranty offered by ASUS. Gets sent to some crappy 3rd party repairer who takes weeks/months and often does a bad job.

      • Sounds like you haven't experienced "support" from the Lenovo "depot" in Sydney? ;-)

        • +1

I've deployed hundreds of Lenovo this year and their support hasn't failed me yet.

I have just recently, and I'm more than happy with the experience. The latest 1803 Windows 10 update had made my laptop randomly enter into the BSOD, and a system restore wasn't fixing the problem. Turns out there was an issue with many laptops with Intel SSDs like mine.

I sent a request for repair on a Saturday, they arranged DHL to pick it up on Monday, laptop had it's MB replaced, SSD swapped for one from Samsung and it was sent back to me in under 4 days. Haven't had a problem since then.

I went with following deal from Whirlpool forum.
Putting this here for anyone interested.

Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen 6 4G (comes with sim tray)
    Specs :
    i7-8550U
    Win10 Home 64
    14.0" WQHD Premium IPS
    16GB RAM
    512GB SSD
    WWAN Fibocom L850-GL
    1 Year Depot Warranty

    Cost :$2511

(optional) 3 Years NBD warranty for $300

This can be had by contacting Lenovo rep:
    Andrew
    email: [email protected]

Config is fixed. Shipping takes 2-3 weeks.

    • This deal is amazing.

    • ripper of a price!

    • Yep what i bought.

    • +1

Loving my machine, i paid $2565 for same specs but lacking the 4G (wasn’t avail at launch).

The premium IPS is superb and battery easily lasts a full day working on the road.

      Another is

      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Lenovo-X1-Carbon-G6-I7-8550u-14-…

For $7 more get another 512GB storage (and strangely packaged with a speaker?) but lose the LTE

    • +3

Oh, that’s the deal I posted on Whirlpool.

Just to add a couple things:

I spoke to Andrew recently and I believe he said he might be able to set up the payment so that you can use your AMEX to pay online. I’m not completely sure whether the $200 offer/discount will work, but definitely worth a try.

You can add on the wireless keyboard and mouse combo, leather sleeve and some spare trackpoint caps for $89, bringing the total cost to $2,600.

      Good luck!

    • the only downside is I cannot use cashrewards as well as amex deal on this. I had to pay bit more for get 15% cashback few weeks back
      mine is

      i7-8550U
      Win10 Home 64
      14.0" WQHD Premium IPS
      16GB RAM
      512GB SSD
      1 Year Depot Warranty

and I paid $2645 for it

  • +1

the request was to get higher specced model at a lower specced model price.. :) I should probably send an email to Santa instead

  • +1

You need to use the AMEX offer TONIGHT as it is last day 07/06/18

  • Thanks OP!Just bought one with Amex offer & your code.have been thinking this whole week to buy E580 but at the end first time buying laptop> $1500!!

  • Note it has to be shipped before 22/06 to be able to claim the Amex offer.

  • Excellent work laptop.

  • hmmm… i chose the yoga 920 i5 / 8gbram / 256gb deal from harvey normal over this..

    am i gonna regret lol

  • These X1 still using soldered RAM? Always a deal breaker for me, RAM usually the first item to fail.

  • It looks like this deal is only $9 cheaper than if you were to go to their website and select the current deal being offered to everyone on X1 Gen 6 Carbons. But, if you go via their website's promotion, at least you then have the option to pay more and get the 16gb soldered RAM.

Here's the deal being offered on their website: https://www3.lenovo.com/au/en/laptops/thinkpad/thinkpad-x/ThinkPad-X1-Carbon-6th-Gen/p/22TP2TXX16G?menu-id=X1_Carbon_(Gen_6)

I don't know much about these things and haven't purchased a laptop in years… So, can someone please confirm if this is right? Is TA's deal really only a $9 improvement on the deal being offered on their site already?

If so, I might pay the extra few dollars for the ability to buy the larger RAM.

    Thanks in advance!
