[NSW] RMS Number Plates @ MyPlates 20% off EOFY Sale

100
S618EFY

EOFY sale for getting your plates redesigned or changed. It is NOT a discount for the pathetic and unreasonable yearly fee, but off the order fee.

This is the same shtick they jam on at mothers day and fathers day every other year.

You will need to go to the site, work out what you want to do and either ring the RMS or visit one of their lovely branches and do it there. Apparently they can't employ someone with enough website coding skill to make an online store page that would allow you to place your order online with the code above.

Please feel free to fill the comments section with comments about how it's not applicable to your state or how drunk at the wheel NSW is when it comes to yearly "personalised" plate fees…

From the email:

If you’re looking to improve the look of your vehicle or give your business a boost, well now’s the perfect time.

There’s over 100 different plate styles to choose from starting from just $180, so it’s easy to find a plate to suit you or your vehicle. And if you’re running a business a personalised plate can help advertise your business 24/7. It’s a mobile billboard that’s sure to get the 2019 FY off to a great start. • Is there a transfer fee to swap the old plate to the new?

    • It sure what you mean. If you are just getting a restyle/recolour, the price is on the website for restyle. Take 20% off that price. Order the plates and when they arrive, you take the old ones off and hand them in, take the new ones and fit them to your car.

A real shame it's not a discount for the pathetic and unreasonable yearly fee.

    • Nah, they privatised the personalised plates. The government "licences" some private outfit which leases the rights off the government for 99 years or something stupid like that. Most of it goes to the pockets of the private company.

      • You're kidding me. Makes sense now that i think about it.

      • I thought that was the case initially, but when I read through the terms all the ordering and agreement is still with RMS (who then pass it off to a 3rd party manufacturer to make the plates).

This appears to be one of the few things not yet privatised!

  • I just ordered my new plates literally 3 days ago!
Fuming! Wonder if I can still get the discount applied…

    • has to be cancelled same day as order to get it refunded and reordered

  • I have recently made my own number plate design. It is quite easy

It is clear and can easily be read. I'm looking at putting a reflective coat on it for a bit more shine

  • does this include reordering of a damaged standard plate ?
