Should do. But my display port cable from MSY works, just won't activate sleep mode on my monitor when the computer goes to sleep.
Yeah 99.9% will be fine with the cheap 'passive' cables/adapters.

Bought this dvi-d to vga adapter for $3.60 plus the $15.06 for the above. Hopefully this will work for a Macbook Air to display on a monitor.
Spoke with Apple and for those who have old Macbooks with Thunderbolt ports this will connect to it given that its Mini Display Port.
Just give me the damn camera dongle for a reasonable price damnit!

Kmart sells the mini display port toHDMI for $10.00. Bought a couple and work 'just' fine. Not 4K model though, only the std 1080P.
Had to replace my Apple one ($40.00+), stopped working after repeatedly swapping between MacBooks and display monitor and projector etc.
