I think HTC went overboard with the price increase for this model. Once you add the controllers and sensors it's pretty out of reach for most gamers

  • It's 1,199 RRP so I'd say it's is really only 10% off… Best price I've seen in AU though.

  • If you want to know…a full set cost $2000.

    • That seems to include the new base stations and apparently a 2018 revision of the controller?

The problem with this product is that the market is nobody.

    1. People with the Vive, controllers and base stations, have no reason whatsoever to fork out $1000+ for the somewhat minor (subjective) upgrade in clarity.
    2. People without anything, would also have to buy controllers and base stations, which are likely to be phased out soon, putting the purchase price at well over double the price of the original Vive.

      it's for the rich kids

      • Evidently.

  • If i hadn't spent so much on the original….
Which i can't even use atm as i had to sell my video card to pay vet bills :( - which were a waste of $ anyway as the poor bugger died anyway :~(

    • remind me not to have kids until i have a lot of money ..
