interesting, but it is no doubt built into the cost of the plan/rate

  • I like it that when I try and visit the "Energy Price Fact Sheet" I get a 404/"don't be sneaky" page…

    • Haha looks like the redirect rule isnt working properly..

electricity 4 and gas 4 options - discount of 8% down from their 42% on other numbers, works out to be an extra $100 on my last bill in nsw,

    If you're looking to run a value comparison, I'd value the two plans at about $384 (12 x 2 x $16).

Amaysim bill every 28 days, so that would be 13 x

      • $416 it is!

Good luck ever receiving your promotion.

My experience with Amaysim has been that you will be screwed around with promotional items for months and months with them saying you will receive it in x days, but it will never come and you won't have any choice but to make an obudsman complaint.

What's even worse. At the time of the promotion the billing was to be discounted on the current months bill, well that changed to your first bill will receive no discount - it will only be applied to the next bill. On your last bill (before disconnection/moving) they won't credit the discount to that months bill, only credit it to a new Amaysim energy account or if you move for the next bill. This was not the PDS when I signed up, yet it became their policy after I did - with no recourse.

I switched to Amaysim for the promo with free NBN for 12 months and have been quite happy with their service actually. The NBN was connected within a few days and electricity shortly after. For those saying they build the cost into the price, I know it doesn't work for everyone but you should calculate it for your house.
For me though, with a two person household a large chunk of our bill is supply charge so paying a few dollars extra was worth it.

      • I realised for some reason I linked to a crazy old and wrong OZB page (no idea how that happened) for the Amaysim listing where many people have had trouble claiming their promotional item.

        Here's the actual page:

Lots of people slamming Amaysim for a recent promotion.

Sounds like you were paying extra for the service? There's an incentive to give you the promotional item if you are paying extra for it! This deal is them giving away mobile plans when signing up using a promotional code (same as the link where lots of people are making EWOV ombudsman complaints).

  • Sounds like a good deal to me after comparing with simply energy racv offer($100 credit), red energy(amex+bonus qantas point+referral offer, estimate $150 worth). Any doggy terms in this deal? any advise?

is it a lockin 12 months, I can't see anything saying so. What's to stop someone signing up, paying more for electricity for 1 month, changing provider again, and keeping the phone plans?

edit: nevermind, i actually read stuff and answered my own question.
It's not a lock in contract, but you will lose the phone benefits once you cease to be an amaysim energy or mobile customer.
    found in their t&c

they acted like a d!ck on the phone when I asked them why the POT discount is only 5%. They kept referring me back to the money I'll be saving with the free SIMs lol. C'mon people.
