Nice to see prices coming down a bit. :)

There have been deals for a GTX 1080 in the $6** range

      • Absolute cheapest one for brand new was $559 + shipping. Since that deal I have seen maybe average regular $660 delivered ones more than a year ago.

        • About what I paid for my 970 a year or two back. :(

That means the new card will be launched before that.

It has now changed to TBD, maybe cancelled.

  • lots of graphics card deals recently, must be desperate to clear the warehouse before the launch of new cards.

    • lots of graphics card deals recently, must be desperate to clear the warehouse before the launch of new cards.

Desperate? Stocks are running out of many cards and there is plenty of time before the new cards arrive no doubt at a large premium over current prices.

      • Yeah I don't get this.. only reason you would want the new cards is for status symbol or bragging rights or to feel special or support new technology definitely not for bang for buck unless some major technological change has happened or been added. Personally I might just do it because I may have enough (profanity) you money to do it for the first time in my life.

        • I maybe…just maybe have enough for the 1060 equivalent Lol but I think msrp will be high as (profanity) because of demand from gamers :(

        • @Basimx: yeah prices will be huge for a long time especially since gaming gets bigger every year or iteration so more people with more money to milk off.. Will be a great time to buy second hand gpus and stuff though.

        • @AlienC: Yesterday I bought an RX480 8GB. Quite overkill for my system as my CPU is huge bottleneck (i5-4460) in some games but I love it. It was for 200 which idk is a good deal or not considering it was the reference HIS model. Regardless, my monitor was already compatible with freesync and the guy lived only 4km away. Finally I'm happy even though my CPU bottlenecks like (profanity) in a game like GTA V, games like Witcher 3 run maxed out smoothly which is kreygasm.

        • @Basimx: sweet deal dude that'd very comparable to a GTX 1060 6gb just 10% performance difference compared to a RX480 8gb.

          Very nice my dude.

I have got a i7-2600 GTX 1050ti low profile coming for a small form factor pc.

Case is a HP 8200 Compaq.

Really tempted to go bigger and fit in a 1070 or 1080 but the why not voice in me is trying to dip my toes in ultra sff pc builds and see how small I can go with a monster 8700K GTX 1080ti build while not compromising much on performance or cooling differences.

I feel like it can be done and some other enthusiasts have proven it.

Beast gaming in the size of a shoebox for me.. that's the dream.

        • @AlienC: Nice. My dream is silence because I have an intel stock cooler and reference AMD blower fan which are probably the reason why xD I didn't know if it was a good deal or not because it all happened pretty fast and didn't have time to research much but now that I have just for shits and giggles it does seem like a good deal despite the brand (which I don't really care about since card is used anyway) and the reference cooler.
Better check out Zotac's mini series of cards if you wanna continue with that project :) something like this https://www.zotac.com/us/product/graphics_card/zotac-geforce…
As for the CPU cooler check out the Noctua NH-L9i. Low profile and affordable but it won't be enough for an 8700k. I can't think of any 'low profile' cooler that would be good for an 8700k OC so good luck with that.

        • @Basimx: probably won't oc off the bat but now that I think about it seems kind of silly to buy a k series and not overclock it.. hmm I guess I shall see I guess

  • let them rot there…
