FAQ

Where do I enter the coupon code?

  • Once you have logged in and when you click "Add to cart" button, it'd say below the next screen "Enter Coupon Code"

It's showing me higher AUD price than mentioned in the title

  • Choose USD as your currency from top left hand corner. Don't select AUD, always choose to pay in USD, it will work out cheaper even after your credit card conversion fees. Also read the below.

How do I ensure I get the cheapest AUD price possible

  • To avoid higher currency conversion rates and to get cheapest price from these Chinese websites, you should get a credit card that charges zero currency conversion fees. 28Degrees, Bankwest Zero, Coles Mastercard are generally popular. Irrespective of what credit card you use, always choose to pay in USD on these Chinese websites, (Go back to main page, Choose "USD" from top left hand corner). Additionally set your Paypal so it "bills you in the currency on Seller's Invoice". To set your PayPal account this way permanently, follow the steps shown in these snapshots [Highly recommended]

Managed to snag the $32.99 price, take care they automatically select registered post at checkout - free shipping is an option, just takes an extra week or so.

    • Mine got dispatched today by Australia Post, apparently.

  • +4

    Thanks OP.

If copying coupons from here, there is no gap between the 2 and the $ sign.

    EDIT - You're welcome, hmm.

    • +2

      Cheers for that.

  • +1

Any good? Compare with KZ earphone?

    • +6

I've been using these for a few weeks. Sound quality is fantastic, better than my Xiaomi Hybrid wired headphones and significantly better than the Jaybird X3 I paid 4x as much for. I like that they're magnetic so I can just drop them in the charging case or snap them together in my pocket.
Downsides are the case won't fit in your pockets because of how thick it is (I leave mine at home and haven't had my batteries run out yet but i only use them on the way to/from work and when I'm out for lunch) and the signal strength doesn't seem great, I need to keep my phone in my right pocket to stop them from dropping out while I walk.

      • +1

Thanks for the review, might just pull the trigger!

Can you please also comment on the battery life?

      • +3

Do you reckon these would fit under a motorcycle helmet?

        • +18

Lol you've got balls listening to music while riding a motorcycle

        • +3

@montorola: Actually it's audio books… Either way, any idea if they fit?

        • +7

          @montorola:

I agree. When you're on the road at high speed without the protection of being in a car adding more distractions may not
          be judicious considering the downside.

        • +2

I think they would but I don't have a motorcycle helmet around to check :)

        • +24

@Icecold5000: Thanks for the input. I've been riding long distances with books and music in my ears for many years and on many different bikes. I'm hardly alone in this and there are many custom made products for the many riders just like me, but bluetooth headphones do the job and do it cheaper. I'm glad that you're not riding with headphones if that makes you feel uncomfortable, but I will continue to do so and would love to hear from anyone who can tell me how these will go under my helmet. My current pair sticks out a bit too far and can come loose while I put on or remove the helmet.

        • +1

          @roseyhead: Thanks, that's great. I'll give them a go :)

        • -5

@montorola: not like they can hear anything anyway with the rediculous exhausts they use (not legal). I was using a chain saw the other day and the motorbike going by was louder than the chainsaw with my earmuffs on.

        • +3

@Gusper: I'm not sure who you're referring to here by they, but the (legal) exhaust on my bike is likely not much more audible than your car and unless you have Super powers, you certainly wouldn't hear it over your chain saw and your earmuffs.

        • +1

          @montorola:

Actually motorcyclists should be using noise blockers under their helmets

          http://www.hearingtestlabs.com/motorcycle.htm

        • @Soapdroid:

He's probably talking about a Harley rider with an obnoxiously loud exhaust

        • +1

@Soapdroid: audio books? you've got big balls then

        • +1

          @dragonindespair: I think we've established that already:

montorola: lol you've got balls listening to music while riding a motorcycle

        • +1

Even if these fit under the helmet, id be worried they would fall out (esp when putting on or taking off the helmet) and could easily lose an earpiece

I sometimes use my cheap pair of bluedio TE under the helmet from here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/314991 - sticks out a bit but now gotten use to it. And the chord between the ear piece gives me peace of mind it wouldn't drop or lose it so easily

        • @mrshorty: That's similar to what I'm using now, but I love the idea of ditching the cable as I find it can get in the way and pull the earpiece out when I turn my head.

        • +1

@Soapdroid: If you have the budget, go for jabra elite sport v2. It sits flush in my ear

        • @djprima: Thanks. They look awesome and have great reviews.

      • Thanks for the review. How about the phone call quality? i might need this for meeting as well. Cheers

      • +2

Better then the X3 is a really big call…!!

        • Yes the X3 sound is very good. Been using them for over a year now!

        • "significantly better…"

      • Do yours drop out in connection? A lot of reviews saying they do..

      • Thanks for the review but I'd hold off until I hear some other feedback from those who have jumped on this, since I can't find any other reviews - don't mind paying a few bucks more if they're as good as you say they are, especially in terms of the sound quality.

    • +1

Amazon customer reviews do not look promising. Over 40% of the reviewers have rated it 1 out 5. I'd have pulled the trigger if most reviewers had rated it at least 3 out of 5.
      https://www.amazon.com/QCY-Earphones-Bluetooth-headphones-Sm…

      • +1

That review is for an older version, with totally different look so essentially different product

        • +1

Thank you, I had not noticed that.

I still think that given the limited information and/or reviews for this product, the older one may be somewhat representative of quality. Of course, it's just an opinion.

        • -2

@CocaKoala: Actually there are thousands of buyer's reviews/comments out there. Anyway, you always have your "opinion" based on a different product.

        • +3

@aec: Feel free to post those reviews/comments that are "out there". That's what the OP asked for, and I provided what I could find.

        • @CocaKoala: What you found was irrelevant. False information is worse than none. Thanks for the negs.

        • -1

@aec: I'm waiting for you to provide links to the thousands of reviews that you purported to be available about the product. You keep adding irrelevant replies without backing up your claims of the product having thousands of reviews.

        • +1

          @aec:

          CocaKoala has you there.

        • +1

          @serpserpserp: nah.

but cant help if he is illiterate which he has already proved.

and i m not gonna reply to this post again.

      • FWIW I own the QC29s and find them excellent. I use them almost every day and have had them for about 12 months.

Biggest downsides are a shortish battery life (4-6 hours) and the range on the bluetooth is short.

      • +1

I have the QCY Pro.. I think they are rubbish…. want them for $10 + postage?!?!?!?

      • +1

I have these and have had several issues:

        • Highly sensitive to interference outside. Most busy city streets I have to hold my phone in my hand (not in my pocket) to avoid it cutting out all the time.
        • The filter spontaneously tore for one of the earphones so I had to puncture the other one to balance the audio.
        • The button on one of the earphones is loose causing it bump around if I'm moving quickly.
        • Last week the two earphones stopped pairing together, meaning I can only listen to each earphone separately.

I bit the bullet and ordered a pair of Jabra 65t's. Besides those 4 issues honestly, the QCY Q29 were perfectly functional for audiobooks.

        • Wish I saw this before buying =(. Got lured by the positive post near start of post =(

        • @28kb:

Should clarify, I have the QCY Q29 not T1 Pro but from reading other reviews, at least the signal strength has not improved.

  • How the quality compare to Anker SoundBuds? Both is nearly same price.

  • Made my first order with ZAPAL, lets see what happens

    • +4

let us know how you go after 5 weeks :D

      • this is my concern! got one order with Gearbest before, dont want to buy them again. i even pay for the shipping, but still take a lot longer than expectation.

  • -1

Hurt my ear and easy to drop. Sounds not as good as airpod.

    • Is your experience based on the older version (QC29) or this newer one (QCY T1 Pro)?

    • They're also a quarter of the price of Airpods.

You get what you pay for.

  • +1

Can anyone comment on mic quality and also general fit? Earbuds always fall out of my ears and in-ear sets are better, but I need the wings to secure them in. How are these?

    • +1

I have the TWS10, the earbuds that came with it were too small. I used one of my LG earbuds and now fits perfectly. These never fall off, use them for the gym daily.

Also, i had the Meizu EP51 from last year and prefer these wireless earphones

      • Thanks for the input, I've gone through so many headphones. The size of the earbud tips help, but for me the most secure fit always comes down to the wing design now.

I actually got all the way to checkout on this set, but backed out at the last second. I figure Google are going to release the Pixel Bud 2 set in 6 months time… I'll hold out and see what their like. If they are like last gen I'll come back and look for a deal on a set similar to these.

    • You better use wings to secure them if you want to run or jog with them. Havent come across any comments regarding the mic quality though.

      • Newb question: how would you do that? Install wings I mean…

        • The included tip already has wing. If you have the budget, you could make custom earmold at an audiologist. It's so comfortable that you forgot it's there, while still grip securely

        • @djprima:

lol you could do that, but if you had budget you wouldn't buy these 'phones.

I suggest using some quality duct/gaffa tape over your ears to keep these sparkies inside.

  • Missed out on $10 coupon but got the 8 good marketing

    • you crab one already? i have not yet…concerning about the mic quality

      • I should've checked reviews.. Bad one here https://youtu.be/00x21hm0mIw

        • Yes I agree, the review was bad; ill prepared and spent more time talking about other products. I'd give little credence to it.

        • Thanks buddy… Seems like "you pay what you will get", i got a pair of Meizu Bluetooth, but same, the connection is ok, but the mic voice quality is awful, the other part can not here what i am talking at all…Need the lush to hold myself for this one now.

        • @pingpongball:

          perhaps speaking up might help.

  • I pressed cancel on the billing with the $8 coupon, then came back and it was gone :(

Used the $6, better than nothing. Small gift for the missus.

    • +1

Do you really think that she'll be satisfied?

/ Is she really that easy to satisfy…

      • Gift for himself to block out the noise?

      • Maybe she is used to small gifts?

  • How's the signal quality, 1-2m? Also these sit tightly? Planning to use them at the gym.

  • Does not look that promising…https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00x21hm0mIw
    I guess it is cheap!

  • The design of QC29 is cool. Why the new product looks so cheap and plastic?

  • Would these be a good substitute to the Apple Air pods?

  • +4

Thanks OP. Just bought the black version from geekbuying for a little extra
    https://www.geekbuying.com/item/QCY-T1-PRO-TWS-Dual-Bluetoot…

    • Wow. Black looks so much better.

  • Even when top notch battery manufacturers unable to get 100% safer batteries eg Note 7 batteries, aren't we taking a huge risk with these type of headphones?

    • +2

You're afraid of the tiny battery? The one in the Note 7 is 87.5 times the capacity of this. This 40mAh battery is smaller than your pinky nail.

      • +1

Not worried about battery in these but you are underestimating the power of lithium iron batteries. Also a match head is more than 87.5 times smaller than Note 7 battery yet it can start fires.

If you want to see it for yourself, just get one of these https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/340413 take the battery out and short it.

        • +1

It's lithium-ion not iron. And I'm not underestimating the power of Li-ion or LiPo cells. I have enough of them to start multiple bonfires if I wanted to. I'm just saying the stored energy in these 40 mAh cells are very little and you will be disappointed if you were expecting a fireworks show.

Using your match head example - a match head releases energy when ignited due to chemical reaction between the components. Energy released is approx. 1 BTU or 1 kilojoule. The 40 mAh battery has only 0.148 Wh or 0.5328 kilojoule stored.

        • @m9: nvm the typo. I do have my share of 18650's too. We weren't talking about fireworks. And yes its true that 40mah battery in the shell of these earphones are pretty safe that's why I said I'm not worried about battery in these at first. But you can't just say that it will be safe just because it is 40mAh.

        • +1

          @oxymoron:
"The 40 mAh battery has only 0.148 Wh or 0.5328 kilojoule stored."
Technically m9 can say it's relatively safe by just stating 40mAh if the maths is correct

        • +1

@oxymoron: Not sure about you but pretty safe sounds safe to me. It's all about the total energy stored and these batteries just don't have a great deal of them.

  • I look forward to the day when two things happen…cigarette smoking and the wearing of earbuds while driving in cars is banned….ditto the quite unbelievable proposition that someone would need to be otherwise entertained by the wearing of earbuds while riding a motorcycle at 110kph.

    • +2

Australia, the only country where 110kph on any motor vehicle is considered to be fast.

      • Very accurate!

  • Dam i already pulled the trigger on a pair of kz zst earbuds

  • I've got the 29's great base, sound quality I find is awesome, I can move around the gym with my phone in my bag 10-15 meters away, only slight drop outs sometimes. If these are the next step up, they should be better engineered one would expect. Just My 2cents guys

  • +3

    https://www.zapals.com/qcy-qy19-in-ear-bluetooth-4-1-earphoh…

If you don't mind a bit wire, recommend to go qcy
    19. Have been using for a year.fantasitc for 20 bucks.battery still lasts 3 to 4 hours.
Qy19 got higher rating in jd.com

    • +1

I second this. The cable is actually useful to help you not to lose either side.
The sound quality is pretty good and you don't have an obnoxiously big charging box with it :)

      • how do they compare sound quality wise? I use QC19's when listening to podcasts but they sound crap for music I reckon

  • Still waiting for my QCY Q29's I ordered a month ago

    • Might be the same deal I ordered from. Mine came today

      • +1

        Review please

      • -2

Your opinion on them would be especially valuable, since there aren't any reviews available for these yet.

        • aec has provided a link above with thousands of reviews on this item.

  • Could OP please update the coupons to display the $6 one only? All the rest are gone now. Cheers.

  • Mine alreadd arrived!

    • Can you let me know which courier delivered yours? Is it AusPost?

      • I have absolutely no idea sorry! I came home and found it in my mail box. But with my other ebay purchases that are from china, it is usually aus post that delivered those. Extremely impressed with the delivery time, was expecting at least three weeks for these to arrive, but it’s only been a week.
I have only just plugged it on charge so haven’t tested them yet.
