    • Expired offer. Ended yesterday

  • How's the infinity gauntlet thing going in Fortnite? Is it fun?

    • +1

It's fun when you're Thanos, not so much fun when you're not.

      • Thanos is pretty weak actually (considering he can be 1v1ed by a competent player), plus the sky fort cheese strat that's around at the moment.

    What's a V-buck worth?

    • $14.95 for 1000. I suck at maths. Where’s MathNerd?

    • Quick Google search looks like $10

      • That's also $10 USD so about $13.45 AUD.

  • +4

    Usd$10 = ~AUD$13 or AUD$15 on PS4 or mobile

My continued bewilderment at the popularity of Fortnite continues.

This post should be updated. I took advantage of this deal today. Even though it's advertised as the customer buying/receiving V-Bucks, at the end of the day EB hands the customer either Playstation or Xbox credit (not a code for V-Bucks). So the deal is actually '$15 of Free PSN/Xbox Money When You Trade in Any Games over $5 Towards $15 of PSN/Xbox Money'… which is a much more enticing deal for people. EB is promoting this as a Fortnite promotion, because of the game's current popularity.

This deal is actually incredible. We haven't had any 15%/20% off PSN cards for a very long time. This deal pretty much equates to, "Trade one game worth $5 or more and get 50% off $30 PSN/Xbox credit (even less depending on how much your game trades for).

  • Eh will be good for the relo's. They're spending all their money on this game.
Buy on gumtree sell to eb

  • Anyone got a game list for games worth over $5 trade value?

Have a look at the comment section of the recent Donkey Kong trade-in deal
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/374684

    • From the last deal I asked about a few.
      Halo 4 - $7.
Spec ops the line - $7
      Bayonetta for 360 - $1.50

      • Remember that only PlayStation 4, Xbox One, 3DS and Nintendo Switch games are part of the promo.

    • Watch dogs 2: $7.70
      Wolfenstein new order: $7.70
      Wolfenstein old blood: $7.70

      All ps4

      • Some of these are in the 2 for $40 at JB. So you could get $60 PSN credit for $40 if you don't wanna trade in any of your own games.

  • Humm i’ve Got heaps of crappy ps4 games that I don’t play .. one per person.. I am guessing that I will need to drive a couple of friends to a couple of stores…

    • Or just sell your unwanted games on gumtree or ebay. Trade prices are very bad on the consumer. CEX used to be good, but now they are generally just as bad as EB games. ie. A game they sell pre-owned for $20, they will probably only give you like $4 for it :/ whereas you could easily sell that same game for $10 :) .
I guess if you want heaps of psn store credit, it might be an OK deal, but still, you gotta consider how much you are losing by trading with stores that rip you off really.

  • God I hope Elders Scrolls Online is worth something. Game literally has no value to me or even as a keep safe because A. Always Online and B. No Aus servers.

    • Unfortunately not. The preowned copy is part of the 2 games for $20 deal (so $10 each).

  • So only one per person? I have a couple I can get rid of.

What is it with EB games and their complicated trade deals.

  • Can someone help me out here and explain this?

Is it any game worth over $5 that gets the $15 card?

    • +5

Trade in any current gen game that has a trade value of $5+ towards purchasing $15 or more credit, you'll get another $15 on top of the credit you purchase.

So if you were to trade in a $5 game you would then pay the $10 difference for $15 credit, then they'll throw in another $15 on top.

  • Still available? so can i sell fifa 16 (ps4) for it.

    • They will probably give you $3 trade in, then sell it for $15-$18

  • Wonder if Xbox One Rise of the Tomb Raider would fetch more than $5 on tradein…?

    • +1

Can confirm it gets over $5, traded it in last week.

  • To add to the list, Tetris Ultimate and The Dwarves (PS4) trades in at $7 each (before any bonuses).

  • So I just traded in to purchase PSN card and they said I will receive an email if I am first 10,000 customer.. Thought they will just give $15 PSN card on the top straight away.

    • And there's the catch … I reckon you'll probably get it if you get in with in the first few days

    • I did it this morning and I got the $15 Xbox credit straight away.

Must've changed the T&C's halfway through the day.

    • Maybe a dodgy store that didn't want to give out free credit? Would be good if someone can confirm tomorrow if this is actually the case now.

  • Bit confused by some of the responses, do you get $15 of Xbox credit or do you get to purchase $30 worth for $15?

    • +1

You trade in a game as per normal and you get an extra $15 in Xbox or PSN store credit.

      The catches are:
      * Game's value must be over $5.
      * Only Xbox One, PS4, Switch and 3DS games can be traded in.
      * First 10,000 customers only (started Friday night).

The wording from OP and EB Games itself is weird. The $15 Xbox/PSN credit is intended for purchase of 1000 V-bucks, the in-game currency for Fortnite. However, there is no redemption code for said V-bucks itself, hence the $15.

Judging from anecdotal evidence and comments here, a lot of staff are confused or just being b*tchy about it and are not honouring the deal properly.

    • -1

you get to purchase $30 worth for $15

  • Ok traded forza 5 for $15.50 lol so its super worth it.

surprisingly forza 5 is $14 trade in.

  • I traded both Killzone Shadow Fall and Infamous Second Son, only had to pay 5¢ extra for the full $30 credit!

  • +1

Incredible deal! I just went to Eb Games and the staff member informed me that it was double trade in value as well.

  • lol trading games for virtual currency in a free to play pay to win title…
Also trade in value for many of the titles is a complete joke. you need to trade in at least 5 titles to even get close to $15 xbox/psn currency which then begs the question why not just buy the credit yourself?

    • +3

Fortnite is not pay to win… Purely cosmetic….

Did you read the title? Let alone any of the post…

  • See staff for details.

Wtf? Dodgy asf condition. Why not just tell the terms and conditions, instead of telling us to go into a store and ask staff so we can understand what this deal is exactly. I guess we can call staff on phone. But why tf not just list details fully online

  • +1

Anyone know if this is still valid?

    • Worked for me yesterday arvo

  • Towards $15 PSN/Xbox Credit

You dont have to trade towards/purchase $15 psn credit, to get the bonus $15 psn credit.
I traded a game for $8, it came up as $23 credit. Paid the extra $2, and received $25 psn credit. They can only give it in increments of $5.
Should be able to trade a game for exactly $5, and receive a $20 psn credit voucher. Mine was in a $20 and a $5 voucher. As I hadna game valued at $8, then paid the $2.

Still working today if anyone still interested. Got $10 for GOW Ultimate/Rare Replay which came with my console.
