  • link doesn't work?

  • Accidently signed up for the VIP CLUB thinking they would just hold my details for further purchases then got a confirmation email and an invoice for $25 membership fee and will be charged $25 each month! Sorry but l canncelled the whole order and membership. Will probably lose the $25 but hey they can try rip off someone else. Will make my own donation without having to purchase their crap.

And only last night I was wondering what scams there would be to cash in on the crisis.

    • +1

How did you accidentally sign up for the VIP club?! It seems to pretty clearly state the costs involved to me.

    • hmmm….it shouldn't be negged just because you didn't read properly

this is bad, this is very bad. If you really want to donate money to the flood appeal, do it via the official channels/charities. That way you know the money will go there.

    • do you have evidence that this money will not go to the appeal?

      • +1

What I mean is that why buy something from a company that say they will donate the proceeds to the appeal. I would prefer a company to donate an amount of money without saying to it customers that we will donate money, but buy our products first. My work donated $5,000 and didn't ask its customers to buy something so it would happen, and I am sure others businesses have also done this. Do people donate to charity really expecting something back? I hate companies that try to sell stuff saying that for every item X we sell, we will give Y amount of money. Makes them sound like that are doing something good in attempt to sell their product or advertise their business. It might be good intentions, but this is the way I feel and I know some people won't agree with me.

        • We don't know how much, if anything, this business may have already donated, (that's for them and their consciences)
However, this may be a way the business can do more…..

business wins - gets good publicity (can probably write it off as advertising/promotion)
customer wins - gets cheaper make up
Appeal wins - receives proceeds of sale

          What's the problem?

If people want to give to charity, they will give…if a deal like this can squeeze out an extra $10 for the appeal, then it's a good thing surely?

We should neg based on facts….not how we feel…
is it a poor product?…is the company disreputable?

Your posting is valid, and your opinion is valid….however….attaching a neg to that opinion would be seen by many as inappropriate.
Also…..the other, (similarly inappropriate) neg in this deal means that the poster is barred from contributing for the next 5 days….

  • Clicked on it, and it says: "Available to you for purchase for only $20 (regular value $74.50)."

    • this deal should be reported as expired….from looking at their site, there were only 1000 packs at $10…. which have gone.
They are still donating $10, but the packs seem to be $20 now
