potassium is good - most of us don't get enough. We do get too much sodium (from salt) and sugar (two of the other ingredients); they're in everything that is processed including this product.

Are you diagnosing everyone's needs? As a tradie in the tropics, I use these daily.

      • +2

Surely there is a better way to get potassium than via this form?

        • Bananas if you like them.

  • Voost equivalent was cheaper via CW.

I prefer sucking on the tablets than with water. It's good stuff.

    • -4

I swallow them whole, without water. Good stuff indeed

    • +1

It specifically says not to do that

      • -2

I don't play by the rules!

      • To the surprise of no one. It won't work properly if you don't dissolve it in water or take water immediately after eating the tablet for a number of reasons. Potassium chloride can certainly dehydrate you without the water.

  • Sold out :(

The orange is still available though

Edit: They're matching Coles which are $17 atm.

    • Thanks. Updated.

Can get these from chemist warehouse cheap all the time. Not much of a bargain.
    https://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/80546/hydralyte-elec…

    Chemist warehouse = 23.99/60 = 0.3998 per

    or

    16.89 / 40 = 0.42225 per
    15.20 / 40 = 0.38 per

    • +3

So you negged OP when the S+S is cheaper than your ones?

    • +3

Ill do the same as Lachie010 and wait for discount on a 60 pack.
I wont neg a valid discount post though.

      • @Slithe Don't forget to post on here when they do ;)

    This is the ozbargain way:
    1lt water
1/4 tsp Himalayan pink salt for electrolytes and trace minerals
1/8th tsp “heart salt” for potassium
Use a stainless steel bottle or glass bottle to hold the OzElectrolyte solution.

1lt of this in the morning, 1 lt in the afternoon, normie water between. Then spend your hydralyte money on coconut water and a fluoride filter.

      You forgot sugar.

      • When I was first onto this I was putting a small amount of sugar in, but I found that it works better for me without it.

If anyone wants the source it’s an adapted version of the WHO oral rehydration solution.

Thanks - I didn't know a potassium enriched salt was now readily available on the market.

I'm happy to pay for my hydralyte, but might change to heart salt for cooking.

  • What is this actually for? can’t you just hydrate by drinking water?

  • +1

    Bought it, thanks OP

  • While it's 40 Tablets, its only 20 Servings of 200mL at $15.20 - haven't compared the salt/mineral content but the brand Liquid IV does 10 servings of 500mL at $10

    • Unfortunately Liquid I.V. has different ingredients that may not be suitable for everyone that has been taking Hydralyte. I prefer the simple original electrolyte formulation of Hydralyte. In addition to the usual electrolytes, Liquid I.V. also contains several types of Vitamin B, Vitamin C, Stevia Leaf, Maltodextrin etc which I do not wish to take as part of my hydration drink.

With the Liquid I.V. price, I'm not sure where you buy $10 for 10 servings. Chemist Warehouse current prices are: (Amazon costs a lot more)

Here are the ingredients of Liquid I.V. and they differ to Hydralyte:
