  • Good timing! Thanks.

  • +2

A week after I ordered $100 worth of products of course :)

    • Yes, typical… Do you think they would provide credit for the difference?

      • +1

Unlikely but can't hurt to ask I guess.

    • story of my life

  • Great timing, I was about to place order today! Code worked perfectly!

    • +8

      Do you even lift, bro?

      • -6

It's true, I could start working out in order to lift the wads of cash I save by not working out and buying powdered supplements and vitamins, but that would mean I don't have wads of cash to lift anymore, so would be ready to lift, but nothing to lift :-(

Please, share more about your irrelevant opinions.

Looking for suggestion on plant based proteins.. Is hemp protein good? I have heard the taste is crap..thanks!

    • +10

Hemp protein is definitely high on my list of things to try

    • +2

I've used the pea, the rice and the soy. None of them taste good, but the soy is the most palatable to me, and the easiest to mask. I can handle the unflavoured soy mixed in with a bowl of frozen berries and plant milk to make a protein sludge, but with the others it takes a lot more to mask them.

    • You'd have to check out where they get the hemp from, that way you know what is or isn't being sprayed on it. Pea protein is good but not exactly tasty and I'd be wary of soy because of it's GMO risks. There is also an ongoing debate about whether soy is good or bad for men but you can google that.

      https://www.menshealth.com/nutrition/a19539170/soys-negative…

      • +6

What exactly do you think are GMO risks?

    • I've tried the chocolate flavour of pea and brown rice.

Quite honestly it tastes like dirt, but I got used to it fairly quickly.

      • The vanilla one isn't any good either.

If you're not actually vegan using milk makes it decent. Maybe almond milk + fruit would make it reasonable?

    • Earth protein is great, I just have it with water. Chocolate/Salted Caramel.

Very good value for money for plant-based I think.

  • +1

Targeted? It's saying it's expired for me.

  • Thanks, remember you gotta lift big to get big #yeahbuddy

  • Would be nice if they could do free shipping

  • +1

    Says it's disabled for me

  • Ozbargained

  • Anyone care to comment on their hemp protein or Natural WPI protein? Regular whey is starting to make me feel a little uneasy in the stomach and I'm keen to try and alternative.

    • +1

I found the natural gritty. Ive been using the WPC for a few years now , maybe give that a shot.

      • WPC is worse I reckon. I'm pretty sure its because its derived from dairy. Might have to give this whole getting swol business a miss.

        • +2

Their Protein Matrix+ mix is great tasting and pretty good value plus includes Lactase which breaks down the Lactose which might be affecting your gut. Noticed much less bloating vs WPC.

  • +1

The coupon code you entered has been disabled so it can't be used.

  • +2

Yeah.. Looks like they have disabled the code. Touch luck guys. Will mark it expired.

  • +26

that was a quick 14 days

    • +3

      Over promise, under deliver.

    • +3

They shot themselves in the foot, time to hit up venom now

  • +1

    Anyone know another code?

  • +9

Bulk Nutrients have gone bad with their coupons since they introduced their "Whey Points" scheme that's a waste of time. So that's why i buy from elsewhere now. Thanks thought OP, they almost had another sale.

    • +5

Where do you buy from then?

    • +4

      Where do you buy from?

      • +2

I use to buy from BN and now get it from myprotein. imo its better than BN

      • I've been using uprotein.com.au and am really happy with the products

        • +1

Myprotein haven't had their 30% off deal for ages.

Their prices have gone up.. I used to get 5kg whey for $75-80 now it's over $90.

        • +1

@Circly: Yeah I've been noticing that as well. They give out a whole bunch of useless free gifts instead.

  • +19

You release a code to increase your sales. Then your sales increase but you deactivate that discount code. What were they expecting/aiming?

    • +15

They do this every single time it gets posted here.

If I could find an equally good supplement store I'd swap in a heartbeat.

      • +2

Take a look at VPA, and MyProtein. I'm not affiliated with either, by the way.

        • +2

          +1 for myprotein

        • -2

Both are horrible compared to Bulk.

        • +3

Bulk aren't doing themselves any favours here, killing off promo codes.

"Horrible" is a wild claim. VPA stacks up very well in my experience, and I have an order from MP on the way.

        • My Protein is pretty good except for their weird marketing where they constantly post "sales" codes, plus shipping is exorbitant unless you spend over I think $150.

        • @CheapCharlie: Prices are fine proteins are horrible. Get what you pay for I guess. I'm trying Black Belt Protein to see how it stacks up.

        • @KLoNe:

Lower protein count, higher carbs, higher sugar than VPA, but the price is good. Get what you pay for I guess!

        • @KLoNe:

Have you done an independent lab test to verify this? I've always been intrigued as to how people judge protein quality.

      • +1

I went to use a code posted on here once but they had disabled it. I just emailed them asking why I couldn’t use the discount I got in the email, they quized me on what the email said and applied the discount.

      • +1

        proteinauthority and blackbelt protein

        • Thanks man, BBP WPC is is pretty crazy value at $99 for 6KG.

        • @KLoNe:

Thanks, I'll place my order with them. Bulk nutrients have lost me.

      • As mentioned above, I've been using uprotein.com.au, and am really happy with it

    • Amen ( ‾ʖ̫‾)

  • +1

These guys have good products, not sure how the prices compare.

    https://www.trueprotein.com.au/

I have yet to find a mob that has the same range of products that BN does.

    • They're good when they do the 30% off codes. IIRC my last order was 5kg for $75 of their whey concentrate.

Not crap, not amazing. Taste is slightly below average and stomach jumps around a bit for a minute after having it.

Probably the best bang for buck one out there.
      Personally prefer ON Gold

  • +7

    What a wheyst of time

  • +1

Didn't realise they disable codes posted on OzB. Guess that was my first and last time ordering from them.

    • +12

Doesn't even make sense either. One of the major points of having a sale is to increase customer awareness of your brand.

If they're happy with the product they'll come back and probably pay normal price. Whoever is in charge of their marketing is brain dead.

      • -5

Their concern likely is that they're going to sell off a punch of products at cost price (or near-cost) to people who won't return until there is another sale like this

        • +7

          I highly doubt they're operating on a 10% margin.

        • no company sells their products at cost price. it is detrimental to their existence.

  • Been Googling for a new place to buy from now, thoughts on Black Belt Protein?

  • +2

The guy on the chat log (Nick?) I found to be pretty terse in his response to possibly offering a 10% off code to a first time customer after citing that this one had been deactivated.

Don't think I'll be bothering with Bulk Nutrients in the future. Shame because I heard their products were decent.

    • They used to have their chatline online most working hours but lately I've noticed they don't, but they do reply to emails. Not much good if you need info at the time of ordering?

  • I’m lactose intolerant so I drink the earth protein. Tastes pretty good in chocolate flavour. Vanilla not bad too

    • +1

No Himalayan cow hoof for me please, I'm yak toes intolerant.

    • Have you tried the salted caramel? I think it's better than the vanilla.

  • +1

The code will be active for 14 days.

…aaaand expired in 6 hours. classic.

  • +1

Neg for code withdrawal. Boo! I wanted some of the meal replacement shakes.

  • +2

    What a joke.

  • Wow, not even a full day?

  • Was about to order $100 worth of stuff earlier today, and code got withdrawn. not bothering again with BN

  • Myprotein coupon SITE10 gives 10% off… better than nothing if you can't wait for 30% off.

But, where does MP source their protein from?

I've always bought from BulkNut … back in the day before their website revamped. Used to get 60kg lots and share amongst a few people and they used to give a good bulk rate to me. Now seems like they've "sold out". Shame.

    • I feel like they are going away from the 30% off strategy?

Cheers for the 10% off code might make an order now. How did you find it?

No idea where they get their whey from.

      • I've never tried myProtein but I know it's run by TheHut group from the UK (who own a few brands such as ProBikeKit)… So i assume European whey is used.

I've always trusted BN because they used to use Australian whey or NZ whey. Then they went to American whey because of price and stock availability. The rise (again) of all these small protein resellers brings caution… I think it was 3 or 4 years ago heaps of them got caught selling "cut" whey, which I got stung by too.

The raw cost per kg before packaging and overheads for Fonterra New Zealand WPI is about $14. There's roughly $10 profit per kg after bagging if sold for around $30. That's just to give you an idea of whether a deal is "too good to be true" off ebay etc…

      • +1

I feel like they are going away from the 30% off strategy?

Yeah I emailed them asking about the lack of recent discounts and they confirmed it by saying this:

        Hello tastycheeks,

Thank you for getting in touch.

We have discounts on site tastycheeks, but the days of huge discounting are gone and we are now offering free gifts for our customers.

If there is anything else that we can do, then please do not hesitate to get in touch and a member of our team will be happy to help.

        • damn! Guess there is no point waiting anymore

    • +1

It's been quite a while since their last 30% off. They don't seem to be doing big discounts anymore.

  • What BN usually does is close codes when it gets 'leaked' or ozbargained. What I did was ask their chat support that I received that code by email and that it wasn't working so they gave me a new working one.

  • Damn. I should have been quicker to order 😕

  • Yup, I also noticed they don't use Australian whey anymore. I stopped buying too, and their prices aren't that great.

Always 20% off eBay sellers, and Iherb has Sales. Aminoz matches too, so less reason to use BN.

    • Just be careful of that ebay protein, their protein content might not match the label…
