Needed a new microwave for a family of 6. This is a 42L Inverter Microwave and at the moment LG have a promo where you can claim 2x Gold Class movie vouchers after purchase (Total value $82). Purchased from Harvey Norman for $269 and HN have a promo that included a $20 HN voucher.

If you add gold class hn better value
Money in the pocket is actually better value than vouchers.
I'll sell you one for $600 with a $500 voucher to dick Smith :)
I considered catch, however it has a $19.95 shipping charge and at least with HN or any other electrical store, you can take it back if it is DOA.
got one of these, it's good.
Betta Electrical $249 free delivery or cc plus the 2 gold class tickets included
That must be why HN is doing the $20 gift card promo. I would have negotiated the price down rather than the HN voucher.
Yes hn hoping you won’t use the $20 voucher or at worst buy something that’s overpriced.
I like the styling. Is there enough room on the right hand side to open the door, if it was positioned hard against a wall on that side?
Yes, I have one and it sits against a wall on the RHS and it is no issue
I recently got a similar lg… I do recommend.. Food is very evenly heated.
1200W, if anyone's wondering.
I was looking for a white version but the doors seem different form my google search.. PS it looks like there are two displays on in the door and one in the machine ( normally you would think they would just put a window through to the machine display .. is that right?
Hi Elijah. For this particular LG model it only comes in plain black, stainless steel and black stainless steel. There is no difference in the specs of the microwave apart from the front bezel. There is only one display and its located on the inside of the machine. There is a window through to the machine display in the door like you've said.
I am looking for a new Microwave Oven, and have been checking this one for a while:
Any recommendation compared to this LG one?
Breville 34L 1100W Stainless Steel Microwave
https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/breville-34l-1100w-stainless-…This LG one is recommended by choice.
We have the Breville and the button layout and style is great…
~BUT~
1) It is as noisy as hell, may be just ours, but I'd check in store.
2) The display light stays on for a good 5 minutes after you've opened or closed the door (which is weird if you want to just warm up your cup of tea in the middle of the night)
3) The "end" beeping can be turned down, volume wise, but not off and it doesn't stop when you open the door.We are in a small unit at the moment, so these are really disruptive if your partner is a light sleeper.
Very decent microwave.
Edit: Also, 'ready' tone is (profanity) retarded.Yeah I've used one of these microwaves before and it plays a little song each time it finishes the time set - so annoying - what's wrong with a few beeps!
Other than that it's quiet and cooks well
I’m the opposite, the little song gives me joy
Appliance Central have it for $220 with free delivery sydney metro. $15 delivery for me in Melbourne brings it to $235.
https://www.appliancecentral.com.au/microwave-ovens/lg-ms429…Great find! Next time I will be posting future possible purchases on here first to find the best price. The only problem this time was that we needed one ASAP as our previous microwave finally packed it in. It's a great microwave for the size and heating functionality. I purchased it with a westpac altitude mastercard so I have a total of 4 years warranty which I hope it lasts for longer than that! (2yrs Manufacturer + 2yrs Westpac Extended warranty cover).
Thanks birdman, great price, much appreciated
Good microwave for those that are looking for one! Sleek and minimalistic (we have black one at home and took advantage of the Gold movie tickets).
Random microwave question…
Has anyone bought those microwaves that are flat bottomed and don't have the spinning plate? Are they any better/worse?I have an older model Panasonic Inverter without the turn table and it's by far the worst microwave I've ever used, even compared to the old $80 budget brand I had years ago. Food never cooks evenly, and due to hot spots you have to turn it often or it never heats up all the way through.
I saw this at TGG yesterday and it had a promotional video playing on the window that you'd look into the microwave through, although I couldn't spy any obvious attachments. I'm assuming they had done something clever for the floor model and it doesn't actually have a screen embedded in the window? Can't see anything about it on the website.
