  • Useful, good value for money I would say.

  • seems a good deal but im not sure about the strap filter wrench? wouldnt one of the metal ones be better for the job?

    • I have 3 metal ones because they are NOT adjustable.
The one in the picture looks (size) adjustable to me…

      • ah ok…
i have this one and it does an adjustable range from 63-76mm

i guess the one listed in the deal could be used for other purposes too (eg plumbing)being adjustable and made of fabric(or is it rubber?)

        • +1

Same here but in 3 ranges, that is what I meant.
The one in the pic seem to have a wider range.

  • looks like pouring oil out of drain pan and back into a bottle will be messy/slow. it is hard to get the last few 100mls out.

a pan with a tapered side/spout is better

    • +1

yes can vouch that it wont drain entirely clean….but the spout is effective at removing the bulk of the oil….used a rag to mop up the remainder from memory so not that much. bonus is handy filter holder on the top edge to allow the filter to drain into the pan without mess or fuss

  • These make great bed pans

    • I hope you didn't sit on the bit poking up, JV!

      • That's actually the catheter.

  • Grabbed thanks OP! Gonna try to use the jack stands I got last year to finish the job at my own first time. Any advice experts?

    • What do you do get rid of the old oil?

      • -1

dump it in the green bin.

      • +2

I put it back in the now empty (fresh) oil container and take it back to Super Cheap Auto, my shop has a big bin where you can deposit your used oil container.

Sometimes I take it to the local dump where they have a big tub where you need to empty the container, a bit messy, much more convenient at SCA.

        • same here…take it back to sca and let them deal with it :P

  • I do need to point out that a round pan is very difficult to empty. As you pour, the liquid also wants to come up either side of the spout and over flow. I have a round one and a triangular one. The latter is far easier to manage.
