I got the same edition but dt990 model. Love the sound siganture of it but the highs are not for everyone. Either you love it or hate it kind of phones. This one is for more neutral listener.

Urrgh, they still haven't made the cable replaceable :|

Buy modded ones or get someone to mod them for you.

      • Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of having warranty for these headphones?

From BeyerDynamic website: "Defects in the product resulting from or in connection with modifications made to the product to the extent that regarding the nature and extent of the modification no prior written consent on the part of beyerdynamic exists"

        • In the many years of owning Beyer Dynamic headphones, I've never had a warranty issue.

I remember back in the day when the DT880 came with the annoying telephone style coil cable. First thing I did was burn in, followed by a cable replacement.

        • Modded headphone suppliers offer their own warranty.

  • What is this Made4You coupon code? What does it do and where do you enter it? eBay AU doesn't like it.

    • Made4you is targeted. Check out previous posts. Not sure why it's mentioned here.

      • Thank you. I was not targeted and I have forgotten about it. It didn't look like a typical eBay Pxxx code and it didn't occur to me to search.

  • I have the DT770's, how are these different?

      Source:

Long story short, the DT770 is a closed-back studio model that does everything okay, while offering a little more “oomph” in the bass. The DT880 lessens some of that oomph, while also providing a little more detail and a slightly more relaxed high end. And the DT990 offers more attention to detail in the mids and highs, while possibly skimping on bass. Each model fills a specific niche, hinging on the legendary German engineering that Beyerdynamic is known for.

Beyerdynamics are excellent. I can wear mine all day. My ears get a little sensitive after a while but it only hurts when i take them off

Great price! I currently have DT770’s (easily the best closed back headphones I’ve ever owned, I love them), Sennheiser HD6xx’s, HD598’s, and HD5xx’s on order, but I’ve always wanted to try the 880’s. Might be time for the 598’s to go on eBay…
