What is use case? Support for a lot of streaming services has stopped over time and every other day support for existing service breaks down. Highest resolution it can record in is 720p. Too many issues and I don't see any value in it.

Honestly not much. This is just a web based screen recorder for online services.

You can pirate everything you need in much better quality.

If you wanted to be a little more legit you can screen record netflix and all the other services yourself.

As far as I can see you are paying $20 so you can record 720p Netflix, which you can do yourself.

It is one solution to be able to access Netflix and others in Kodi. I tried it but wasn't great.

  • It's very problematic. I have had it a few months. One day it works perfectly (despite max resolution of 720p), and the next day it's pure crap. I can no longer access my Amazon Prime Video (US) account and as I now have 2-stage verification on all my Amazon accounts, PlayOn.Tv cannot appear to be able to handle this. I have advised their (PlayOn) support of this a week ago and to date no response. I cannot cast to my Chromecast devices but it continue to try and miracast to my now defunct WD TV device. The settings are limited and I can't fix this. On some days I can access my media from my Android smartphone and tablet and the next day I can't. Whenever something fails, I receive an error code but no translation on what the code means. Their web-site provides no clues either. Finally, the software does not advise or update automatically. You need to visit the web-site periodically for updates and download and install manually (so last decade!). Fortunately I only paid USD19.99 for this piece of crap and so my financial outlay is limited to this as it is not worth any more than that. The only benefit I have had so far has been an ability to record for free old back catalogue movie titles which don't come up on Netflix or Amazon, else it is not worth a bother.

In short, their software needs a serious audit and update, and while they are at it they should refine their support.
