Probably cheaper if you choose to pay in Euro because the banks usually have better conversion rates than Amazon. Ignore the warning "Does not ship to Australia". Just put it in the cart and proceed. There is also a button on the website to show English language rather than German.

This receiver has been posted previously but this is the lowest price I have seen. Unfortunately the Euro to Aud conversion rate has gone against us in the last few months, but it's still a little cheaper than before.

At checkout, the tax gets removed resulting in about €352, plus about €85 shipping. Maybe the shipping differs according to location.

The receiver sports 7.2 channels, Dolby ATMOS and Helios.

Highlights (from Denon’s Product Information Sheet)
• 7.2 channel AV Receiver with 150W per channel
• Built-in WiFi with 2.4GHz/5GHz dual band support; built-in Bluetooth
• 4K/60 Hz full-rate pass-through, Dolby Vision compatible, HDR, HLG* and BT.2020
• 8 HDMI inputs (incl. 1 front) with full HDCP 2.2 support; 2 HDMI outputs
• Advanced Video Processing with 4K Scaling for HDMI sources
• Dolby Atmos (up to 5.1.2) and DTS:X
• Built-in HEOS Wireless Multi-Room Audio Technology
• AirPlay, Bluetooth, Internet Radio, Spotify Connect, Tidal, Deezer, Network Audio Streaming
• DSD (2.8/5.6MHz), FLAC, ALAC and WAV support
• Audyssey MultEQ XT, Dynamic Volume and Dynamic EQ
• Colour-coded speaker terminals, Setup Assistant, Denon 2016 AVR Remote App
• Intelligent ECO mode with off/on/auto setting

I ordered one of these on 4 April and it's already here in Central Coast NSW (I had to defer delivery so I can be home to receive it).

From comments I have seen, warranty should be no problem (in the first year anyway) as Amazon are really great in this respect. I just had a PC motherboard fail after 7 months and they agreed to a full refund and will reimburse return shipping (Amazon US).

Ignore the warning "Does not ship to Australia". Just put it in the cart and proceed.

All that proves is that they'll take your money, not that they'll ship it.

    • +3

Please reads second last paragraph. Also comments on previous deals to ignore that warning.

      • Ok my bad for skimming. Thanks for posting.

Might be worth moving that up to where you advise to ignore the message.

oh, I want, I want. Just need to apply for Approval with the Minister for War and Finance.

    • Good luck! You're gonna need it!

    • +5

Minister says please accompany application with clean dishes.

Not sure how much your comment helped, but she loved your comment, and gave me permission. Lol.

I really want the Avrx4400 with its 9.2 channels, but that size upgrade can wait until I get a bigger loungeroom and an can build in an infinite baffle sub.

        • chuckle Happy to be of assistance in any capacity. Consider me your court jester ;-)

9.2 channels would probably require a week of dishes, so 7.2 will have to do ;-)

        • bought it. Actual price is closer to AUD $698 when using Euro on Amazon and paying in Euro through my 28Degrees.
Price after tax removed: EUR 352.10
          Packing & Shipping: EUR 85.68

Ordered Thursday evening. Arrived Monday midday. From somewhere in Europe via Heathrow.
Faster than I could ever possibly have expected.
Unboxed, wired and set it up last night. Significantly lighter than my Denon AVR3801 amp. Easily only 50% of the weight. And not as deep, either, so it fits in the Ikea cabinet properly. The remote is cheap in comparison to the old Denon remote, but it is more Wife Friendly as it has fewer buttons. HDMI hand shaking is a bit flakey, but I expect that is caused by my crappy HDMI cables. Perfect mid-way Amp until I can upgrade to a bigger lounge room and bigger 9.2 Amp (and do enough dishes).

  • Great deal. Would have jumped on this myself but just bought Yamaha V583 a few days ago after not being able to find any Denon deals, wish I had waited!

  • My Denon AVR 2113 from Amazon DE still going strong…

  • Got one of these from the UK via eBay for $700 delivered a few months ago.

Very nice AVR. 8 HDMI inputs is great, but I've still managed to use them all!

  • hmm what to do with the avr 1300 if i buy this one ????

    • Sell it. I could be in the market for the right price.

  • Hm. The x3400 cops GST. $1017 posted. Amazon charges the GST themselves.. so $1119 in the cart :(

I'm after that analogue to HDMI, more capable 4k upscaling (4k 50/60) and I'm not sure but I think it has matrix HDMI out.. I would like to do two different inputs/two different outputs at once (in my setup one zone has 4.1 speakers, one zone has 2.1 speakers)

    • I think the x2400 supports multiroom hdmi output to zone 1 and 2 effectively splitting its 7.2 channels to your config. I reckon you should check the manual.

  • My Denon AVR-X2000 from Amazon UK still going strong.

  • I have two of these from Amazon and can vouch for the warranty and support.

  • +1

I picked up this X2400H from Amazon.de last year. It is a cracking unit at a remarkable price. Great sound and 8 HDMI inputs. I do all firmware updates via LAN to minimise any chance of bricking the unit via firmware update.

  • What hdcp support does it have, my current onkyo tx-nr509 struggled witch foxtel to projector handshake. Still got to get thing fixed under warranty.

  • Do we need step up transformer for theses? Or do they use 240v? I’ve got 12 year old denon ave-3806 that I use with transformer but it is fairly old…

    • +3

240v …. nice thing about germany and uk …..uses kettle cord so easy for plug conversion to AU.

  • does it have optical out?

    • No optical out, but does have optical in x2. Which is what you really want!

      • Not necessarily. Could have headphones that have optical input.

        • yes for headphones that have optical input.

  • As per a previous comment, price in title should be closer to aud700.

    • Something strange must have been going on with Amazon's currency conversion … please, someone tell me you saw it at $675 as well.

Checking now, the Euro price is still the same but Amazon is now converting it to about AUD725.00. Checking online conversion calculators that seems about right. Pay in Euro instead and get a better rate from the bank (e.g. Mduncan2's comment earlier about $698 on 28 Degrees card).

Thanks for the find, I just bought this.

    Item Subtotal: EUR 352,10
    Delivery and Handling: EUR 85,68
    Order Total: EUR 437,78

I put it on my 28 Degrees card, so I expect it will come out to around $695.

Bank charged me $700 all up.

  • TL:DR
Denon x2400 vs Pioneer 932 vs any other recommended? Budget would be $700

Which speaker to go with? No budget but $300-400 will be most or start with 2.1 and add up but need some guidance.

It will go with OLED55B7 - waiting for the deal

    Long story:

First time looking in to the sound systems, did little bit of research and initially settled on Denon x1400 vs Pioneer 932. At this price upgrade to 2400 would be even better. Any suggestion - comparison between Pioneer 932 vs Denon X2400? I found in forum that one of the Onkyo would be good too but haven't gone that far in my research and reading forums..

    Any suggestions for speakers?
I have checked and it starts with what you can afford. I still reasonable system with reasonable price. We never head sound system so anything for me is a bonus and it will be mostly used for movies.
$300-400 would be enough? If not can I start with 2.1 - what would be the recommendation?

Sub is available from 299 to infinity - how much would be enough for decent?

    • I think the long story has to come first.

  • Can anyone tell me what I will need to do to connect my existing speakers to this? My current AV Receiver has a 'bare wire' connection. From the look of the back of the Denon, I will need to add a plug to the speaker wire?

    • Never mind — found the manual online it indicates you use bare wire

      http://manuals.denon.com/AVRX2400H/EU/EN/index.php

      • Or you can buy banana plugs to terminate the bare wires even plug that into the back of the amp.you usually need to pull some lugs out of the back of the amps speaker posts and plug the banana plugs in.

  • +1

Ordered 13/4 arrived Adelaide today but not home so picking up tomorrow. DHL express tracking on their site more accurate. Very impressed with delivery time. I.e less than a week

    • Amp is awesome. Nothing in market for that price point matches it right now. Super fast delivery. FYI unit is made in Vietnam

      • +1

Glad to hear, hopefully they have already shipped mine and forgot to update tracking information. Either way as long as it arrives I will be very happy.

  • Anyone have suggestions of 2 tower speakers and sub woofer to use for this unit? Or what speakers are you guys using at the moment?

    • I just went down to Dennis White and they had a heap of Polk Audio stuff they wanted to get rid of it seems. I think I got a good deal on their 550Ts and also their PSW125 sub. https://www.deniswhitehomecinema.com.au/polk-audio.html Sub isn't on their site, but go see them if you in Adelaide. They sounded good instore, and when my Denon finally arrives I can hopefully say they are good in my house too.

      • i'm getting the 550Ts from the same store too, how much did you pay for the PSW125 sub + 550Ts? I can't wait for my denon to arrive too

        • Sorry just saw this, so had Fronts, sub woofer, the Q Acoustics 3090C center speaker and Polk Audio TSX110B Black - Bookshelf speakers to use as rears for $1800.

  • What you pay for the polk gear?

  • Question for those that bought and setup this amp. I have an optical cable from TV to amp, however when I watch TV I only get sound from two front speakers and sub. Previous pioneer amp worked fine. All. Speakers on new amp calibrated and working. I believe it's an Amp setting but haven't delved too deep. Thoughts appreciated. Love the amp

    • try using the multichannel stereo or dolby sorround sound setting. It took me time to setup as well.

  • Anyone else have issues with shipping from amazon.de? I ordered an onkyo amp and its been 6 days and its still with Amazon, yet to be dispatched?

  • +1

Late to the party but this doesn't seem to be shipping to Australia any more?

  • Does anyone know if this AVR can be paired with my existing Denon 2300 to power a full 7.2.4 setup, i.e let this machine power 7.2.0, let the old AVR handle the 0.0.4 in the ceiling? Even the $3000 AVRs don't seem to handle 11 speakers, what's the best (ozbargain) way forward to get 11 speakers?
