Came across this exceptionally well priced two-tiered TV table while at Ikea last week.
Product name is Laiva and it's $20.

i'd suggest putting the price in the title… good looking 1st post otherwise…
the item is regular priced, bought one last year 2009 at the same price, reason its so cheap because of the wood it is made out of, ultra light, using scrap wood compressed together.
like mdf?
MDF is much stronger. This is closer to cardboard. I think it is like honeycomb inside.
Yeah, they honeycomb it. Almost all ikea furniture is like this though.
I can also attest that it is very very lightweight stuff. However, if used within specs eg. 30kg max, it can last an awful long time. I've only ever had a problem with an ikea chair I once had that had a screw lose its threading. They replaced it instantly. All in all, am quite happy with their stuff.
still ok as a price of $20.00 though
Is this the only colour it comes in?
I got one a few weeks back. It's good except when I put a 46" LCD on it, I think the weight causes the wooden plank to bend a bit.
I bought it for around that price if not cheaper, I forgot. I'm currently using it with my 32" LCD.
Max. load: 30 kg
Max. screen size flat screen TV: 32 "
Not bad at all - but it is only for 32" lcd's.
You'd regret saving $50 on a decent stand when your new 55" LCD smashes because the cheap Ikea stand collapses under it's weight.
lol yeah, decided to go out and buy a $600 tv bench the other day to replace it
I bought the same table 6mths ago for this price, its holding:
1x DVD player
1x Media Player
1x Amplifier
1x 42"" Trio old school Plasma from 2007 which weighs about 50kgs
Still standing strong! Great value little stand.
The force is strong with this one
I am its father….
I hope for your sake it keeps on holding.
Yeah, this is standard pricing. However, in the exhibition room, you can find it in a bundle with two connected bookshelves (normal pricing $39 each, which is by itself a great price for a nice looking bookshelf) for just $90. A great piece of furniture for a living room for less than a hundred is a great bargain IMHO.
ikea is amazing.
Awesome! Finally I can get a new dining table for my family of one. :)
Forever alone.
sounds like a really cheap deal here but is that just for online or you can go down to any local store and pick one up for that price?!
