  • Is there an unlimited data sim?

    • Hey Budgetman,

Technically this is an unlimited data SIM, but once you use your 3GB, it's capped at 128kbps.

      -Aidan

      • +1

        Thanks Aidan.
I'll contact you again around October as we dont depart until mid December.

  • Probably a very silly question, but can you easily top these up once the data expires? I'm heading to America for 3 weeks at the end of the month and will blow through 3GB pretty quickly as I will be travelling a lot.

    • Hey Roweysvn!

Not at all, something we need to make more clear!

Unfortunately this SIM doesn’t come with a recharge option, all I can recommend would be to purchase x amount of sims that would fit into your data usage :)

      Hope that helps!

      -Aidan

  • Also looking for Canada SIM. Any idea when you think you might have them available?

  • Great deal, tyvm for posting.

    • Thanks for the support gud2cu! <3

      • Quick question - just confirming I will be able to send unlimited SMS to Australia whilst in the US. Is this correct?

        • Only unlimited texts/calls to USA numbers.

To contact friends/family back in OZ I’d recommend to use data apps like whatsapp, messenger and Skype.

          -Aidan

        • @SimsDirect:

          Hi Aidan,

That is quite disappointing to hear, and is actually counter to what is being advertised. On the page under "Details", it states the following:

          Texts

          Unlimited Texts (USA)

          Unlimited International Texts

        • +1

@gud2cu: gud2cu, you are actually right! I just confirmed with my business partner, my bad! You will receive unlimited International texts.

        • @SimsDirect:

Awesome news, that's what I purchased on the basis on. Happy to hear that it is included. Thanks for the follow up.

        • @gud2cu: No problem! Sorry for the confusion. Enjoy your trip! :)

  • Thanks…bought 2 for our upcoming trip to Chicago in July….now I can keep in touch with my better 1/2 constantly!!

    • You legend! Thanks for the support <3

      Enjoy your holiday :)

      -Aidan

  • grabbed one - thank you

    • Great! Thankyou <3

  • Rep, just bought another 2 for a mate, total now 4. Please confirm that the travel date requested in the purchase process has nothing to do with activation. More so for despatch purchases at your end to ensure people get them before departure?

    • Awesome man, thanks for the business!

Can confirm the travel date requested is purely for dispatch purposes :)

      -Aidan

    Hi, Order #1852.

I ordered on monday with express postage after messaging you to confirm the order would get to me before I left.

today I received a generic looking email saying there was a shortage of stock and orders will not be sent until ~18 April.

can you confirm if my order is being filled?

    • Hi Altomic,

I have replied to your email just now.

      -Aidan

      • FFS.

        Unreliable seller.

        • Look man, I apologise for the inconvenience, but shit happens.

I'm one of two guys in a new business, mistakes will be made and unfortunately this has affected you.

All I can do is take on your disappointment and improve for the future.

You've been refunded and I apologise for the time wasted.

          Sincerely,

          Aidan

  • Holy Crap!

I still have not received the Sim and we leave on Friday!

    OP, what is happening?

    Anyone else here received theirs?

    • -1

      Hi Kiwi,

I won't be able to get your order to you in time. I know I said I would be able to with express postage but I have had unexpected delays and will not be able to follow through.

It was my mistake. I misjudged the time frames and stock amount I had on hand and consequently some customers orders are being cancelled and refunded. I am deeply sorry.

I will have to manage myself better in the future. I honestly did not expect so many orders so quickly so I bit off a bit more than I can chew.

Please send me your order number so I can refund you immediately.

Kiwi, I appreciate the kind words you gave me and I am so sorry I was not able to follow through for you. Please forgive me.

      Sincerely,
      -Aidan

Never mind I have your order here Jason. Refunded.

    • Same here.. leave on Friday… very disappointing!

      • -1

Sorry my man. I am hoping my email I sent a few days ago got to you!

I made a mistake with stock amounts and unfortunately had to refund some customers who leave around the 12th.

Apologies for the disappointment, it was my honest mistake.

I have refunded your order in full.

If you need some help finding/deciding on a SIM when you land please feel free to ask.

        -Aidan

After purchasing 2x USA sims on 2/4 received the email today 8/4 about the company cancelling my order. After discussion on social media was informed that they were selling products to the Ozbargain community that they don't actually have in stock (waiting on deliveries from Hong Kong that have been delayed). Due to the popularity of the deal I assume that Op was greedy and oversold thinking they would be able to get more stock in. I understand this is a relatively new business but this is terrible practice and as we leave for the States in a few days won't have time to organise anything else. Would definitely avoid in future.

    • -3

      I understand your frustration Dave77.

It is unfortunate that your order was affected by the surge in orders. It is 100% my mistake.

I will take better care next time and manage myself for the surge in orders for future customers. I am human, I make mistakes and unfortunately my mistake has affected you.

I hope you can take the time to understand that, and that I am genuinely trying to learn and build good business practice.

Your order is refunded in full, and if you need some help finding a SIM when you land feel free to ask me.

      Sincerely,
      -Aidan

  • Where's my Express Post order I was promised?? I leave on 13 April !!!!!

    • -1

      Hi Ozpanda,

I have been busy getting emails out to customers who bought USA SIMs. I know I promised you I would get your order to you in time however when I made that promise I had not anticipated the surge of orders that came through. So I have had to push back the delivery time for these SIM cards. I sent out emails to everyone keeping everyone up to date about this and consequently, some orders are being refunded in full as I can't get SIM cards to them in time.

I have got your order with me, I will have to cancel your order and refund you.

I am so sorry for the inconvenience, I simply was not prepared and made a mistake.

If you need any help at all with finding/deciding on a SIM card when you land please feel free to ask me.

      -Aidan

    • They are waiting on the product to come in from Hong Kong, didn't actually have any stock in Australia to supply us with - hopeless and very deceiving. After not receiving mine I luckily just had time to order one from Sim Corner, slightly more expensive but much more reliable. My order arrived the next day so could still be a chance for you.

  • I would suggest that for anyone needing multiple USA SIMs that the AT&T Multi-line plans actually work out to be quite reasonable the more SIMs you purchase for your group. From what I can read, if you sign up for AUTO PAY you get another $5 off the plan and you can cancel at any time.

    eg 1GB data SIM - 1st SIM is $30, 2nd SIM is $25, 3rd SIM is $20, 4th SIM is $15
    eg 6GB data SIM - 1st SIM is $40, 2nd SIM is $35, 3rd SIM is $30, 4th SIM is $25

    https://www.att.com/att/prepaid-multiline-discount/
(trying to work out if you can buy SIM only or need to bundle it with a phone)

For a single SIM, another option is the 3 week Tourist Plan with T Mobile $30 with 2GB data:
    https://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/prepaid-international-to…

Note: All these prices are in $USD

  • Hi There - Order #1569

Will i be receiving my order ? I dont need this till early june so not in a hurry but would like to know as i have not heard back either way

    Thanks

    • Hi Skejo,

Yes you will be receiving your order. An email went out about a delay getting stock out. So some people who are leaving soon where affected.

You will be fine. I have your order safe and sound in my system.

      Thanks,
      -Aidan

      • Thanks Aidan

  • Hi

I have order the sim from the 3rd but still have not received it. According to your website it does say a 3-4 business day in Melbourne. Can I just confirm that all the sim have been dispatched and on the way?

    Thank you

After reading all the feedback online I just realise that you have just cancel my order by emailing me (that goes to a spam since it is a general account) and no other follow up.

This is really upsetting as I am leaving in less then a week and no time to order from other company.

It would be better that you put in a counter before you sell as in your website it is still selling with the same information.

    • Hi Min,

I am so sorry for that. Unfortunately there is only so much I can do as I only have your email you entered to contact you. I have been trying to get to everyone who leaves soon as fast as possible letting them know.

I definitely need to work on my inventory management with the online store. I am very new to online stores so this is something I am going to have to learn. Luckily making mistakes like I have with you is what helps me figure out problems in my business and things I need to improve on.

First thing I will be doing before placing any more deals on OzB will be putting a better system in place to manage stock and the huge amount of orders that can come in from OzB.

Again, apologies for the mess up. I have refunded your order in full.

You should not have any issues when you land finding a SIM. I would recommend sticking to T-Mobile or AT&T (these are the bigger/more popular brands). They will have SIM cards with similar data and unlimited calls/texts.

If you need anything from me feel free to reach out.

      -Aidan

  • Hi Rep,
Travelling to USA on May 3rd. Are you expecting to be restocked by a date that would see me being able to purchase one in time for departure? If it's looking dicey then I'll pass.
    Thanks

    • Hi CJ,

I am completely restocked Tuesday next week (17/04) It’s up to you. I have a lot of orders I need to get out to customers who have already purchased. So expect your order to be fulfilled on 20/04 and at your door within 3-6 business days after that. WA and TAS takes a tad longer so looking up to 6 business days. Melb is pretty quick.

Up to you my man! I don’t want to make any promises as there can always be unexpected delays (as I’ve learned) but this is what I am expecting at the moment.

      Cheers,
      -Aidan

  • Just landed in LA. Dialled 622 the voila!

    Thanks mate!

Tip: data didn't start straight away after my confirmation text, but rebooted the phone then 4G was instantly working!

    • Great! Thanks for the feedback.

I'll have to emphasize on the restarting your phone as a few customers have had the same issue.

      Cheers,
      -Aidan

P.S If you could put this review on our website that would go a long way :)

  • I've started using this SIM in USA. But I've started getting a lot more spam emails with the sender of the spam from my own email account. My wife is getting the same thing. At first I assumed that it was the hotel wifi causing this. But my son isn't having the same issue even though he is using the hotel wifi. But he isn't using this SIM. Anyone else having the same issue?

Additional how do we find out the balance?

    • Hi bluechan,

That’s very interesting. I’d like to bring this up with the supplier. Could you email me please?

      [email protected]

Also a trick for the balance if your on iPhone:

Settings > Cellular > Mobile Data > Current Period.

You can track your data usage with your phone. To get the actual usage from Cuniq you need to go to their website and give them your ICCID and PUK number. Which can be a hassle sometimes as the live chat agents aren’t amazing with English.

Texts and calls are unlimited so no worries there.

      Looking forward to your email!
      -Aidan
P.S just Subject the email as bluechan

      • Hi Aidan,
At the moment. I can’t be 100% sure the SIM is causing this issue. But from the 3 data points I currently have. That’s my current theory. If no one else experiences the same issue, it could be caused by something else. But if one other person has the same issue we can confirm it.

What exactly would you like me to email you?

        • Hi bluechan,

Could you send me a photo of your SIM card (the part you pop the nano sim out of)

I need the ICCID number and PUK number.

Also, if you don’t mind. Could you send me a screenshot of the email that’s being Spammed. Just so I can see what’s happening.

Please be sensitive with your information for now with strange activity like this, just as a precaution.

          Thanks,
          -Aidan

  • Does this SIM operate as a local SIM in the USA, i.e. not a roaming SIM?
Will my relatives living in the USA be charged a local call/SMS for trying to contact me while I'm in the USA?
    Thanks!

    • Hi Parkour,

Yes it does operate as a local SIM so anyone contacting you will be charged as per normal.

The data and calls/texts are purchased by Cuniq (aka China Unicom) from T-mobile as a partnership. So even though the SIM is manufactured by Cuniq, the SIM is operating on the T-Mobile network.

      Hope this answers your question!

      -Aidan

    • Doing better than me

      Can’t even open the Speedtest!

  • Received mine yesterday.

    • Great news! Happy Travels!

  • Hi SimsDirect, I received the simcard the other day but I have noticed it says on the back of the card 'Once your data usage in USA reaches 2GB, the upload/download speed will be restricted.' wasnt this meant to be 3GB? Have I received the wrong card???

Is there any way to know what my mobile number is before putting it in my phone in US?

    • +1

      Hi JleeLink,

The SIM card packaging is just outdated. You definitely have 3GB of 4G data. So do not worry haha, you have the correct product.

To explain further, this is something SIM card manufacturers do. They can print the packaging of a SIM card and assign a UCCID number to the SIM but the SIM actually has nothing on it (no value).

The reason there is an activation process is because the data, calls and texts (even your mobile number) is all pooled by the network supplier (T-mobile) in the country you are going to. It is then assigned to your SIM card when you activate it - by the network supplier. So what they can do is, assign 3GB of data even though the packaging says 2GB. This is also how top-ups work also.

So SIM cards are basically blank until you activate them. (I just realised how much I know about SIM cards - how did I get here? Someone send help! Haha)

      Hope this helps!

Oh and unfortunately you will not have access to the Mobile number until you land. Once you activate it you will be sent a text message with your US number. Some customers have mentioned that they did not receive the text so if that happens you can find your number by going to your contacts and up the top there is a section that says ‘My number’. You will find it there.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

      -Aidan

      • Awesome! thank you for the detailed and informative explanation. It really helped and it's assuring to know its the full 3GB.

A bit of a shame that we can't get the number before arriving in the US as a lot of hotels ask for it. But not a biggie, I'm sure I can update it once I get there. Thanks again!

  • Trip report: pretty patchy reception with this sim.

Zero reception at San Fransico airport so could not get an uber.

Patchy reception in New Mexico as well.

    Would not buy again.
