Not to be confused with the NetGear R7000, which is cheaper and not a modem.
This will work with both ADSL and NBN.

I have the r8000 and experienced the same thing :(
Got a RT-AC68U instead and haven't looked back.
Mine has been set up for 1hr now.
Fingers crossed I have a better experience!
I have been using R7000 since last 2 years and its been rock solid.
That's because it is a rubbish device. Google the model and issues, so many people had the same issue with no resolution
Does yours end in -100au or 200au?
I had the 100au and had a lot of issues called netgear and they sent out a 200au fixed all the issues ie drop outs on nbn
My suggestion to anyone buying this modem / router, make sure you update the firmware when you get it.. I had many drop out issues until updating to the newest firmware available.. I don't experience any issues anymore.
There is a entire whirlpool thread on the matter if you want a read.

Good to hear that, as I updated the firmware when I was first setting it up :)
Better go off with Asus; debation completed.
And say goodbye to your sync speeds.
I bought one last week from a very reputable PC store, only to find out they had already returned it to Netgear as it was a Ile of crap and they returned it in an order of new gear.
There are two versions d7000 and d7000v2
Both are utter shit. Drops internet, drops WiFi, gets to the point only way to get any of it back is to reboot the damn thing and after a while reset it to factory settings.
The Netgear parental control options require an opendns account and for parent accounts to use another account to bypass it.
The shop I went to could not believe it when they checked serial number and th initial RMA from December last year.
Read up reviews and faults before buying a solid black of turds.
I ended up going a TP-Link vr2800 for more money but God damn it is so much easier and reliable, also all the parental controls are on th device, no need to us netgears piss poor genie ap
What's the next step up for Asus AC68U?
Love it, but still on ADSL. FTTN is coming in July and even though it can work with it (have the settings ready) but may not be the best NBN modem. Should I just keep and use as a router, or get something better (88U?) as all in one?
Ubiquiti.
What is the model number of the ubiquiti adsl/vdsl modem router?
😂😂
I have this at home it drops out my nbn alot and its range isn't that impressive
