    • Haha.. Offer popped up few mins back so you are safe.no need to hand in ozb gold :)

    • +6

I hope it wasn't the bacon jam! (for full price)

    • Any good?

  • +1

god dammit i bought the wagyu burger at full price yesterday. I don't deserve to be on this site

    • +2

      not unless you're a clairvoyant.

      • +1

A true Ozbargainer would rather STARVE than pay full price.

I lost 20kg in the 'great bargain drought' of 2015.

  • +1

Can't have it in a meal. Boo!

  • For those that bought it already without the discount, how is the wagyu burger? Are there any other gourmet creation burger that people would recommend?

    • +1

I'm eating this right now. It's edible but I dont think i will order ever again even at discounted price. It is on the dry side.

    • +2

Just don't. What you'll first mistake for a crust is dehydration. The patty is dry as the Sahara in a drought. What's the point of Wagyu if you have none of the additional fat to keep it moist & carry flavour?
You haven't seen this much hype about something that'll leave such a bad taste in your mouth since the last US presidential election

      • +1

the issue is frozen meat for a start, so already limited in what can be cooked and how it will taste.

in the USA at a few select stores they are trialing use fresh meat.

grilld also get their meat in frozen i believe, but add ketchup to the meat so,it’s moist. when cooked.

there is a market for burger joints that use fresh meat, it’s just a pain they charge $10 for a basic burger efore you even add chips or a drink.

Damn i just paid full price 50c for a Bacon Jam… wish I used this too!

    • +1

I paid full price too. I'll hand in my ozbargain badge

  • I tried this the other day and it isn't the best. Tastes very plain. The special sauce is nice though.

    • +3

I agree. You don't get the weird McDonalds nice "flavour", but that's good and bad. It feels quite healthy which is a plus, but it feels like eating nothing..

Just make burgers at home, they are so much better than any burger you can find in fast food.

  • +7

Can I get $3 off my 50c bacon jam?

  • Should i get maccas again tonight after my 30 cents bacon jam burger which was pretty bad

  • +2

    BACON JAM ANGUS BURGER!!

  • +3

Came here for the bacon jam comments only

$11 for a burger ?, I'd rather go to a proper burger house I think.

    • +3

Grill'd is actually pretty decent burgers for their price. Too bad they don't pay their staff..

      • Burger Urge is pretty good to, They're only in Queensland though I think.

        • I heard they suck. But that was from a Grill'd friend of mnine.

      • After Miel, I can never go back to Grill'd. And Grill'd uses frozen patties, just like Maccas.

        • Agreed, Miel container was unexpectably good.

I got food poisoning from a Miel burger after eating it the morning after (from the fridge) though. :/

Edit: They underpaid their workers too. Is there anyone who actually pays their workers in this day and age?

        • Miel's burger is way better than the Wagyu Beef Burger. Once you try a good burger, you can't really justify paying that price for the Wagyu.

        • +2

@StoneSin: government workers get pretty good pay

  • Dammit I just bought the Wagyu Burger.

ITs pretty good, patty is try and breaks apart but flavour is good.

    Regards

    Bacon Jam Angus

Lol $3 off is nothing for this "burger" ;)

  • +2

Huge price jacking, it was 50c this afternoon when I bought it -)

These 'gourmet' burgers should always be $3 off, just to be a fair deal.
I can think of several local burger cafes, which offer a larger burger, nicer and fresher ingredients, and better service than maccas also, for equal or lesser cost than what maccaz charge for these 'gourmet creations' .
Check out your local independent cafes and see what they have to offer in the way of bargains and deals.
    I know for anyone in my area, (Wollongong) there is;
*Tonys chicken shop: Lovely large hamburger with great chips, $8.50 (add $1 for can drink) . Dine in or take away.
*Chicko's : many similar deals to Tony's chicken shop. Slightly more pricey than Tony's deals, but more options.
*Jaffa Cafe (Fairy Meadow) , very good burgers, much larger, and much nicer than maccas, famous for their "Yoshi burger" (satay chicken burger) . About $7-8 for burger there.
*Corrimal RSL: Half price burger day, (tuesdays I think ? ) You'll get a large burger, chips, plus salad for $6 . (Usually $12) .
These maccas burgers are OK at $3 off, but when their full price, you will be able to find better deals and nicer burgers, by supporting local independent burger places.

  • What's the bacon jam burger like

    • +1

Pretty good, I didn't like the sauce that much though but the burger was quite big and very filling :)

      • -2

Wow did you drink a scalding hot coffee that burnt your tastebuds before you had that burger?? that sauce shouldnt exist on a burger or to have separately! it also had mayo on the bottom of it which i couldnt taste and also the patty was dry and tasted like cardboard

  • +1

I just went to my local Maccas because I read this as $3 for one of these burgers.
Boy was I disappointed when I went to order and I finally realised what the deal actually was.

  • Macshit != Gourmet

  • +1

Just tried wagyu burger it doesn’t taste real wagyu like Japan. I think it’s nice sauce flavour with bacon and onion.

  • Actually, if you want to save $1 extra for medium meal, opt for the total amount of each item (fries and drink) :)
