Delivery 6000
Thanks - tried some other random postcodes and all came up with unavailable for delivery. Perhaps it's WA only?
Yep seems like it. Wonder if it can be price matched tho
For anyone (like me) wondering about the difference between this and the updated Xbox One S - see below:
The Xbox One S is a streamlined, slightly faster Xbox One with some other improvements.
The console itself is about 40% smaller than the Xbox One, and it doesn’t have the Xbox One’s massive power brick. There’s now a USB port on the front of the console instead of on the side, for example, making it easier to plug in USB sticks. You can also stand the Xbox One S up vertically, if you like.
The Xbox One S does not have a dedicated Kinect port on the back of the console, as the original Xbox One does.
The new controller bundled with the Xbox One S includes a few minor improvements, such as a textured back for easier grip. It now supports Bluetooth, which means you can connect it directly to a Windows PC without buying the Xbox Wireless USB adapter. However, you can use any model of Xbox One controller with any Xbox One console.
Under the hood, the big new improvements are support for 4K resolution and HDR color.
The Xbox One S isn’t actually powerful enough for 4K gaming, unfortunately, so games will still play in their normal resolution. The 4K support is mainly for movies and TV shows from Netflix or 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray discs.
Technically, the Xbox One S is a bit more powerful than the original Xbox One. Its graphics processor unit (GPU) runs about 7.1% faster. Microsoft says its internal testing shows this may result in minor improvements to some games, and Eurogamer found that to be true. This isn’t a big reason to upgrade, and you might not even notice the difference in many games.
Overall, the Xbox One S is a redesigned, streamlined console with support for 4K and HDR on modern televisions.
I think also the controller is different, the on the S has the 3.5mm socket for headset, the original Xbox One didn't.
Yep 4K , etc, we've seen the Xbox one S down to $269 , I think the extra $70 is worth it unless people need an Xbox in a hurry.
Also the S doesn't have a power brick, just a power cord so not as messy.
IIRC, it was the 1st-gen (aka Day 1) controller that lacked the 3.5mm jack. The revised ones included the headphone jack while the 2nd-gen ones included Bluetooth. I remember having one that had this port before the Xbox One S got announced.
we've seen the Xbox one S down to $269
$220 for Minecraft 1TB edition - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/361033
Actually, $219 :)
Actually $219.98. You forgot about that extra 98 cents. It is very close to $220.
@hollykryten: you're right! And here's me thinking I got a good deal! I don't even remember paying the 98 extra cents! ;)
I got my 500GB Xbox One S with forza horizon 3 for $199 at Aldi. Got the minecraft bundle from amazon for my cousin for finishing the selective schools test though…. kids love minecraft for some reason
@Save Medicare: they love Minecraft because it's awesome! … But much better on PC with a mouse
And no optical output
Of course there is - it would be absolutely useless as a gaming console if there was no optical output to the TV.
Nice try, but HDMI is still not an optical medium optical.
I've never heard of an "optical medium optical". Is that the larger version of an optical small optical?
optical ˈɒptɪk(ə)l/
adjective
1. relating to sight, especially in relation to the action of light.@llama: lol, you win, I was half asleep when I tried to reply
Bluetooth on the Xbox One S also allows you to listen to your music and games on a bluetooth headphone.
DOH - Xbox One S doesn't (directly) support Bluetooth audio.
Neither does the Xbox One X.
Yes it does directly support bluetooth audio. I use Bluetooth headphones directly on my Xbox One S and i've played music through it. In fact there's a section for Bluetooth devices in the settings. It's one of the features of the Xbox One S is inbuilt Bluetooth connectivity.
@hollykryten: You are confused and mistaken. The XBOX ONE S doesn't support Bluetooth Audio. It doesn't support Bluetooth headsets and there isn't any section for Bluetooth devices in settings, mainly because IT DOES BOT SUPPORT BLUETOOTH.
The Xbox One S controller has Bluetooth, for connection to Android and Windows. It doesn't use Bluetooth to connect to the Xbox One S console. The Microsoft website says that it doesn't have Bluetooth. https://support.xbox.com/en-AU/xbox-one/accessories/connect-…
So, how about you post up a screen capture or photo of your one-of-a-kind Xbox One that has Bluetooth. Come on, I challenge you to prove what you have posted.
Yeah i'm mistaken. It was an Apple TV that i was using the Bluetooth headphone through for music not the Xbox One S.
Thank you for going to that effort.
Tried to order this morning and get the following - "We're sorry. This item is not currently available to purchase online."
Seems was only
Have they added the ability to play XBOX 360 games yet?
And can I just use it offline (in a practical sense)? That is, without sharing my network and data and/or agreeing to more Ts&Cs than I care to read (such as guaranteed ongoing datarape by Redmondian dataterroristas and all their online buddies?
umm it can playsome xbox 360 and some xbox original games.. but you need to be online for it to download the ''emulator'' and updates. Some of the games it downloads an entire copy of the game (recompiled so it works on the xbox one) and the original disk is used as 'original detection'.
T&C is up to you, but no you can't open it out of the box and then play classic games on it from my knowledge.
By “some” 360 titles were talking hundreds, so a fair few. See https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_backward_compatible_…
Original Xbox list is small though.
Given your view on online life, maybe just listen to your Username.
Dunno if it can play 360, but offline play can be done.
Thanks @TON; That's what they said about 360, but it nags me all the time and the games want to connect as much as starving prostitutes. I thought 'The One' was worse still- so wondering…
Much better off picking up a second hand Xbox 360 if that is your focus. 100% compatibility for the added expense.
If you're an online gamer, you have to wonder how many more years the 360 will be supported, but there are plenty of games that don't require online.
Except the definition and speed are so bad, one's better off with a handheld IMHO
Don't play it on a 75" 4K TV. The 360 does Full HD.
@syousef: OK, thanks. YMMV, all my games appear like 800x600 SVGA- maybe the games are a major limiting factor?
Are you sure you configured your XBox 360 for Full HD under system settings?
How much are they normally?
Around 4 years go, Kmart were clearing out there XBOX 500GB stock for $199. I think $150 would be a decent price for this particular model, based on the only difference being the size of the hard drive. I wouldn't recommend to jump on this, unless you were in a hurry to get a console.
Ummm for $199 your getting a Bluray player and a Kodi box that also plays great games. It's a great deal.
Edit: Accidentally revoked my + sorry op.
Agree. For not much more, consider the X1S if you're going to upgrade your tv within the next 5 years
After selling the guff that came with it ( do not sell digital codes on eBay you will get screwed) it ends up being around $220 down from $269. So, $20 more. You'll get 4k but 500gb and no kinect compatibility.
do not sell digital codes on eBay you will get screwed
I'd considered doing this - can you elaborate?
Use the code and aopen a PayPal dispute saying it doesn't work?
CC charge back.
Which has a $15 fee on top of losing your money and losing your code.
With paypal and eBay not being able to detect users committing repeated fraud with fake living addresses for shit. Let's not forget all fraudulent buyers have 100% feedback because sellers can't leave negatives
@justtoreply: Ah right. No proof of physical delivery with digital codes. I've sent a digital code in the past, but I actually posted the card to them.
I've sent a digital code in the past, but I actually posted the card to them.
That's not going to make any difference if they claim the code doesn't actually work / has already been claimed.
@caprimulgus: True. Jerks will be jerks.
It's a shame Sony are not as desperate as Microsoft to sell consoles. I just wanna play Persona 5.
What do you mean? I bought a PS4 Slim for $199 from HN 1.5 years ago with the HN Amex deal. There have been other instances of this.
If you have a decent PC you can emulate P5 now.
Watchit in the meantime?
Persona 5 is available on PS3 so just buy a second-hand PS3 Slim for $100 and then resell it for the same price when you finish the game.
+1
Or buy the game and emulate via: https://www.reddit.com/r/emulation/comments/7nm0k4/how_i_mad…
Pretty cheap. Bought a new XBox One S 500gb from Gumtree last week for $220 with 3 games.
Edit: Nevermind thought this was an Xbox One S. Not a great deal. The 4k UHD player in the XB1S is the main feature
Just Got the Minecraft limited edition 1Tb from amazon at $220 a few weeks ago, new model and better.
same here, came with creeper controller and then purchased pig controller.
how much did you pay for the pig controller?
Yes it's a custom colour Xbox One S 1TB.
Good deal, but I’d rather get a cheap 500gb Xbox one S and add an extra 2/3/4 TB externally. The original Xbox is just too big, massive power brick as well and doesn’t have a 3.5mm jack in the controller…
The 1TB does have the 3.5mm jack in the boxed controller from memory.
oh, but I'm pretty sure the original xbox one (which is this), has to use an adapter because it doesn't have a 3.5mm jack in its controller.
The original Xbox One Controller with no 3.5mm jack was released 2013.
The 2nd Generation with the 3.5mm jack was released in Mid 2015. almost THREE years ago.
The 3rd generation was released with the Xbox One S console in mid 2016.
So the chance of these Xbox One 1TB consoles being almost 3 years old is very very unlikely.
What postcode OP?
