It's not an apples to apples comparison, but if you don't need such a high carrying capacity, and don't mind the brand stickers that seem to stand out, then check out this item from Amazon https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B01AI2YGK4/ref=oh_aui_d… which was $38.25 delivered to Sydney. Mine arrived yesterday and isn't quite right for the situation I have, so I'm trying out the returns policy.

    • you can remove the brand stickers if you don't like them. At first i was unsure about North bayou but i have 3 of them now, and they look great. Not to mention they work very well.

    • Does either of the monitor arms allow a 27" monitor to go behind a desk to increase viewing distance? I like to have an extra 10 - 15cm of viewing distance.
Like in the picture, it's angled in a way it goes behind the desk, most monitor arms don't work as the side of the monitor hits the first arm. https://i.imgur.com/JdfPldp.jpg

My new bigger monitor doesn't fit my old mount.

  • Never heard of Brateck, I wonder how it compares with my Ergotron arm.

    • I've also got an ergotron lx, but looking for a stand for a second desk. I'd love to hear if anyone knows how they compare?

      • apparently they sell the brateck at officeworks maybe you can check it out?

      • Can't speak to quality but they're roughly the same reach and height.

keeping in mind i purchased the cheapest arm i could find (https://www.mwave.com.au/product/brateck-lcd-monitor-table-s…) but i had 3 of these holding 30" ~8kg monitors) and they really looked like they were struggling, MUCH cheaper construction than my ergotron but that being said, 3 of these cost less than 1 of my ergotrons. The brateck did get the job done but it definitely was significantly cheaper in build quality and sturdiness, as i mentioned before though i don't feel like this was an fair comparison… basically felt like saying a 75" kogan tv feels crap in comparison to a 75" Samsung… they are 2 different products for 2 different markets.

Hope this helps in some way.

  • Would this work for a TV as well? (assuming it's a smaller 30 inch one).

    • As long as the TV is under 9kg and has 100x100 VESA mounting points.

I don't think brateck are that bad, although i've never used one. I do however use 3x North Bayou F100

    • How do you find the F100 arms? I'm considering getting it from AmazonAU here: https://www.amazon.com.au/F100-Premium-connections-Computer-….

Will need 4 of these for my 4x27" monitors.

      • i like them a lot actually, theyre pretty stylish, the only thing thats not great about them is maybe their north bayou sticker, but you can take it off..
The spring is quite strong, be very careful when you undo the velcro. I have 3 of them, and currently they're holding up my 2x dell 2407wfp hcs, both heavier than the "recommended weight" i think, so it does sag sometimes. You can however tighten them.

I even attached one of those cheapy ipad holders to the 3rd one and that holds it up. They're quite solid, quality is great. I bought it when ebay had 15% off sitewide i think, for about $50 each.

        • Cheers for your thoughts on it.

          I've got 2x U2713HM, 1x QNIX2710 and 1x U2711.

Sounds like it's a good buy from Amazon AU for $51 and free delivery.

  • Any decent dual monitor arm recommendations?

    • I thought about doing that, but in the end i went for 3x single arms. Theres a risk that with dual arms youll get locked into positions where you cannot adjust it to your liking. Having multiple single arms give you more freedom for manipulation, but to each their own.
