Woohoo I finally got one, I always miss these. Great code.
Would have been great to have one of these when I was trying to look in the narrow parts of my … engine bay.

  • +1

I bought one last time. Works ok.

The suggested app CameraFi1 (there is a seperate, newer version CameraFi2) is kinda crappy and is annoyingly not a full version.

Would recommend installing a better external camera supporting app.

    • +3

      Can anyone suggest one, please?

      • I use cameraFi. Paid version, I think. From memory it cost more than the camera, but made it useful so… I think there are free apps that work also. Hopefully others will post re:their experiences.

      • 'endoscope' - basic but free, downloaded from play store, and no ads….

      • …but it is very basic. Just saying.

        • If you can see/record the picture what more is there?

        • @seano2101: not much, of course, but I'm sure someone here would complain about it not having a 3D function, or the ability to translate Sanskrit into Mbukushu. ;-)

    • I'm curious as to what people use this for?
I mean, I know it was thought up as a rectal camera but the majority don't need that. However, you could use it to peep through other holes or cracks, but I can't find or see any in my house.

The only applications (besides ArseCam) that I could think of is a mouse-hole, and seeing inside a car's engine bay.
      Anyone got any others?

      • +7

I had to use one to look down my shower drain for a piece of jewelry that fell inside. After putting it down the drain, I won't ever use it as an ase cam again.

        • +2

          again.

      • +3

Having no idea how to quote my post from the last time this was offered, here's a paste instead:

"I have one of these. For the money, it's very useful. I've used mine to look into cylinders through the spark plug hole, to rapidly check fuse ratings (determined by their colour, which is sometimes hard to see as these specific fuses are quite recessed), to check inside walls for power cables and to look up under my dashboard without having to be a contortionist.

Video quality is quite low and the LED lighting system is quite crude and I had to buy an app to make it functional but it is, for all that, excellent at getting visibility in places where, normally, you have none."

Got one of these on a whim last time there was a deal and actually used it to diagnose a problem with my dishwasher recently. Saved me a plumber call out and has offset the cost of the pile of stuff I bought because of Ozbargain that hasn't saved me any money. Would recommend.

  • +3

Used my original one again over the weekend to 100% confirm which cables were what inside a wall cavity. Poked it through the lightswitch hole and visually traced them all in seconds rather than spending minutes and even then still not being 100% confident. Just bought another one as a backup. Not mindblowing image res or quality but absolutely fit for purpose and one of the most useful additions to a DIYers toolbox IMO!

          @moorey: Arrived today!

    • +2

I got mine today (Melbourne metro), shouldn't be long I imagine.

    • Mine came yesterday.

  • +1

Didnt need it, bought it anyway. Thanks TA! noticed expedited shipping is also free, selected that instead of regular shipping.

    • Yeah that was interesting. We'll see if it really does come within a week.

    • Same. Fingers crossed!

    • Mine just arrived. That was definitely express from China. Wow.

  • Got one. Cheers TA.

What kind of USB-C adaptor would I need for my USB-C phone? Just one of those microusb female-> USB-C male ones?

    • +1

      Also like to know this

      • +2

microusb female-> USB-C male is what you would need, however my galaxy s8 won't recognize my camera,so looking for solution. Works on my pc.

        • Thanks Austax 🙌 hopefully works with my LG g6. Received my endoscope from the last deal.

  • +4

The focal distance of these tends to be a couple of cm away from the camera. Just so you're not disappointed in case you're buying it for …

    You know what? Never mind.

  • +3

Instructions not clear, phone stuck in arse.

Yeah but what about inserting it? A bit of spit?

        • Spit can be a wonderful thing and comes in handy when required…

Silicone lubricant more comfortable - occasionally the are free sample s on ozbargain

  • Purchased one. Thanks TA!

  • Damn it! I have used the code, but got issues with my PayPal account, so when I fixed that and tried the code again it's telling me "You have used this code before". If the purchase didn't go through then how did I use it? :(

    • Is the order sitting in your orders section? You might be able to just go back to it and select pahment.

      • The first one disappeared, but the one in my second attempt was, and it still had that "You have used this code before". I have just tried it on my laptop, and it's still saying the same thing. Well, I think it wasn't meant. Unless TA can help in some way.

        • Look for your email confirmation from Rosegal and click on the link provided.

        • @mazdaastina: Yup, I have got that email, but the link is un-clickable. I've even deactivated uBlock and still it doesn't work. It's alright. It would have been added to the pile of unused, cheap gadgets from OzB anyway. :)

  • ● Resolution: 640 × 480 30fps

  • Does the Android phone need to support OTG to get power to the camera?

    Edit: Yes it does.

    • Poor man in a wheelchair fall on his face…?

  • +3

Don't need this - according to my co-workers I already have my head up my arse… lol :D

  • TA seems to be cultivating these double entendres…

  • Got mine today, works fine. Nothing fancy. Only issue I'd imagine is adding some rigidity to the cable to be able to snake through walls.

    • +4

I suppose you could wrap plant training wire around the cable for a bit of rigidity.

  • I got one of these last time. Already paid for itself 10 X over with DIY colonoscopy

  • I don't know why I need this. but bought it anyway.

  • Great reviews from the pr0n industry. Excellent for pov

  • fun times… isn't there a matrix sequel thats being filmed/in the works?

  • How come only Android users get all the fun…

    • +1

An Apple a day keeps the $5 3.5m diy endoscopy cable with camera away

  • Is there something similar for iPhone?

    • Not really. They already come with a built in feature which allows Apple users to shove their products up their arses.

  • Can I use this as a dashcam? $5 is a bargain!

    • That's what I am thinking.. if it reaches my front door.. I can just set it up when I order delivery and don't have to sit by the door for it to wait.. also no need for big ass obnoxious "hello there stranger" xiaofang cameras sticking in their face.

    • .3 is a bit too low.
      1.3 would be better

    • RGCNYNOH gives 15% off

  • I got one from the last deal, unable to install it on my Samsung s8

  • yeah I second on the HD version

    • I second this second this second comment for the HD version.

  • Is the cable completely soft or does it have some stiffness to it? but yea… I need it to be stiff for other reasons than you might think :p
