  Great prices. Any intel on QF INT'L service these days? 10 years ago it could be best described as snooty and arrogant. Has it improved?

    Did Brisbane-LA return a couple of weeks ago. Seemed okay, but TBH didn't have much interaction with them beyond the okay meals and the odd drink here and there. The Brisbane route is still flying the 747-400 museum pieces which are getting swapped out for 787's in September/October, but they had the interiors refreshed a couple of years ago so inflight entertainment's actually okay (shame about the 31 inch leg room in economy though).

    There is USB power but you still will need a double 3.5 mm adapter to use your own headphones instead of the rubbish complimentary units. Cabins tend to be a bit cool so dress accordingly.

      The airplane provided headphones have a built in adapter that you can separate, so just use that.

        Well, TIL that. Had adapters anyway - we head OS every 12 - 18 months so have a "bag o' travel" with all the various bits and pieces you learn you need over the years, including headphone adapters.

    Depends on the flight crew.

    I flew SYD to BKK last month and it was a bunch of grumpy old women who had no interest in providing decent service.

    The Qantas A330-200 is also an absolute dog of a plane. Abysmal for a full service airline. The seat foam is worn to buggery, the inflight entertainment may or may not work depending on its mood and a third of the seats lose leg room with a massive control box taking up half the the space under the seat in front of you (presumably its for the junk IFE system).

    Personally I will never fly a Qantas A330-200 again and would not pay any price premium to fly with Qantas at all.

    I last flew QF in late 2016:
    I flew SYD-> LAX on 747 and it was ok. Everything worked (charging port, IFE), seat was ok. Would fly again though, no hesitation.
    I flew DFW-> SYD on A380 and it was better, even though I was in the very last row of economy. Flight was half empty.

    Staff have always been great imho, so friendly. Except that one time in 2013 I had 3 seats to myself and the FA asked me if a passenger could come join me because they wanted more room and I said no. Lol. He threw me a dirty (I prob deserved it) but complied so no real complaint there.

    The prices in this deal are great. I'd love to go to USA again but not right now.
