  • How hard is it to install without calling a 'specialist'?

I wouldn't even contemplate it. You're going to have to remove a few tiles (unless you want to drill straight through them…lol), for the attachments, then you'll have to change the water connector.

      • What if you're replacing your current one?

        • +4

Speaking as someone who just replaced theirs a couple of weeks ago, if you already have the rail installed and the new shower head fits in the existing holder on the rail, then it is a 2 minute job. The only thing you need is a spanner. Just undo the hose from the bracket and screw the new one in. Job done.
If the new shower head doesn't fit the existing bracket, then it is somewhat more complicated leading to the possible total replacement of tiles.

You're going to have to remove a few tiles.

This is not true, how do you think tradesmen install towel rails, toilet roll holders & shelves etc in a bathroom? This is all done after the tiles have been laid.

Buy a masonary drill bit & you can drill straight through the tiles with a hammer drill.

        • I concur, except you need a tile drill bit, otherwise you'll crack the tiles. Then proceed with a masonry bit to hammer through the brickwork.

        • Well, sure… if you know what you're doing. For the average Joe… no.

        • @jay.mak:

Incorrect, I have been using a standard masonary drill bit on all sorts of tiles for years & never cracked one. Just make sure it's fairly new & isn't blunt, don't push hard, let the drill do the work.

I have a good quality hammer drill which makes a big difference.

        • @WatchNerd:

Sorry, but have to disagree with you there. Just because it works doesn't mean it should be used. I can technically drill a hole into brickwork without a masonry drill bit, but it just takes a lot longer and requires a lot more effort.

Par for course for the average joe, but a tiler would tell you otherwise.

What I can get done in 10 seconds would take someone at home 5 minutes.

        • @jay.mak:

I've got to disagree with you also. I have drilled thousands of holes into all types of tiles with masonry drill bits, it's the fastest & best type of drill bit to use in my 20+ years experience as a tradesman.

      • Remove tiles, drill straight through them… wtf you talking about, you've got no place making comments

I would say quite easy, get a proper drill bit use a level or tile grout line vertically and mark it out

      Watch the below:

He uses a masonry bit for non-porcelain tiles, I'd still use a spade style bit

    Is the LED hydro powered?

    • yeah I was wondering this too. (not really - I assume it has batteries)

      • +7

Yes, it is. There's a little dynamo in there that spins from water flow that powers LED

  • +5

From the installation manual : "The LED light ring is powered by flow of water." Unreal

  • Yes, according to installation manual.

  • Does the LED sync to music?

  • does this come in RGB edition?

if it does - would be great for shower-karaoke sessions

Just need a waterproof mp3 player and you can have your own disco.

    • Just chuck your phone on the bathroom counter and use a waterproof bluetooth speaker with skip track buttons :)

  • The LED on these wont last long…

    • Manufacturers Express Warranty (months) - 60

Comes with a 5 year warranty

  • Does anyone know if the "3S" in the description means 3 settings on the shower head?

    • +2

It refers to the three key areas to clean - scalp, shoulders, snatch.
