Been waiting for an sale on this carry on as i prefer the clasp style instead of the usual zipper. Previous eBay site-wide discounts usually exclude items in the travel category. Next cheapest i can find is $249 at Bag World. (RRP is $499)
This is much more sturdier than the lightweight ones that use zipper. Just because it's heavier it doesn't necessarily make this a bad product.
Your right I guess this one could survive a plane crash.
The aim is to get hand carry bags as light as possible seeing you only have 7kg to work with. You carry this into the plane yourself so there will be no throwing it around like how checked luggage gets treated. Unless you like throwing your hand carry about that is.
Not saying this is a bad product. Just saying it's not ideal given the circumstances.
Unless another passenger man handles your carry on e.g. when deciding your carry on is taking his space in the overhead compartment and promptly throws it down…. wtf..!!
@justin_tsoi: Really?! That's happened? Never happened to me nor seen it happen. In the event it does. This behaviour will be reported to the air crew. We should not tolerate such behaviour.
@xoom: happened many years ago when i was a travel virgin!! not to name airlines (china eastern or china southern, can't remember) but now i know what to do should it happen again!
