  • And again, apparently not a single unit in Perth metro available for pickup…

  • Nice. Sorely tempted but must wait for Nvidia Big Screen.

    • Eww. Why?

    • +2

You do realise that won't be anywhere near this price I hope? So not sure how this could be an option if you were in that market.

This one or the 65" N7 from Hisense?

    • +2

Would like to know as well. Is this comparable with n7?

Thanks, was looking for a TV for my parents. Purchased.

  • I've got the 75".

It's nice but check out the light bleed. Sony and HN haven't been too great.

It has lessened a lot since these photos - but overall not happy with the tv.

      Your link doesn't work unfortunately.

      • Also - android tv is very laggy.

My old 1080p 55” 800c Sony - that I got for $900 is much much faster!!!

      • Yep that's fine. Thanks.

      • +1

Wow I thought people were being picky but that really is awful.

    • Oh wow that there looks like what I had with the Bauhn tv I had this year . It's called clouding and comes from either a bad panel or being damaged in transit .

    • +1

      Wow… that's pretty bad mate!!! :(

My Soniq doesn't even bleed that much.
I gather you've shown HN and Sony these pictures? That's no where near acceptable…top left and bottom right is shocking.

You should post this everywhere you can if they don't fix this issue.

For the price you've paid for a 75" screen, I'd be absolutely smashing the Harvey Norman AND Sony.
Yet another nail in the coffin for ever buying anything from Hardly Normal. ZERO F's given by them after they have your cash obviously.

      • Pretty much. Going to keep pestering but not having much luck. They saying that this is ‘normal’

        • Everything in writing, final letter of demand (be reasonable and professional), then ACCC.

That's not normal… although sadly enough it appears to be normal business practice from them going by online reviews :(.

I have the 65inch. No bleeding

      • The 65" uses a VA panel and contrast is ~4500:1 compared to ~1000:1 on the 75".

        • Holy crap - did not realise this :(

        • @Tech and cars:

Regardless, the bleed/flashlighting visible on yours is unacceptable. Best of luck in finding a resolution…

        • @donnot: Thanks mate. I'll keep prodding and chasing!

I got this tv for 1800 at JB Hi-Fi exactly 3 weeks ago. :(

Good tv, bummer for me that it’s this cheap so soon after I got mine.

Anyone know if jb Hi-Fi have a price guarantee like good guys do? I’m guess it excludes ebay sales like this anyway.

    • Like you said price guarantee excludes ebay deals.
You still bought it for a good price

    • It's up to you if you wanna go to the hassle of returning your to TGG for a lousy $150 saving after del. Personally I'd take it in the pipe and move on…

  • Your credit card company may cover some price drops?

FYI… Schooling you in LED 4K TVs

Dont buy the OLED hype as they have burn in, color bleed problems still and also while it has blacks, they are not bright at 800nits (600 tested), half that of LED?QLED

4K HDR10 is worth having, its a small difference but its worth buying a TV for if you have netflix/foxtel/prime/stan
Next ALL side lit Tvs suck monkeys balls, the edge lit TVs means sucky black and always banding on solid colours!

So backlit is the way to go is the Panasonic 65” TH65EX600A 4K Ultra HD TV with 20% off with code PREWINTER on ebay

QLEDs are all side lit until the new Q9/Q8 Samsungs come out. But they are going to be damned expensive (even a premium over OLEDs it seems)
But if top draw is on the cards its where Id be putting my money.

Info is free ; best deal is a 55" curved Kogan on eBay for $620 delivered… Also smart tvs suck, buy an xbox/ps4

  • Does anyone know what is the major difference between X9000E and X9300E and X8500E all 65”?
According to sony website X8500E has Edge Led panel but X9000E has Direct led panel, surprisingly X9300E 65” has Edge led panel again!!
What makes X9300E superior to X9000E and more expensive ??
Only difference I saw was image processing and speakers

    • +1

According to the below link the 9300e is backlit. The 9300e has "X1 extreme" image processor, while 9000e has X1. 9300e also has the X-tended Dynamic Range PRO 10x, while 9000e only has 5x.

What difference this would make in real world performance I have no idea. If the 65" 9300e returns to $2800 like in feb it would be hard to overlook.

Thanks for the details. Bought 9300E 65” was thinking I should have bought X9000E due to direct led panel.
Apparently F series is coming too(according to sony website) , I think there will be similar $2800 deal or better on X9300E 65” soon

    • +1

The x9300e has the highest brightness of any TV at over 1500 sustainable nits. Where x9000e has just under 1000 , plus a little bit better upscaling and HDR processing. The x9300e is without a doubt the best HDR TV available as it has a technology that spreads the brightness more and acts like a full array backlit TV with a bit better black levels. X8500e is just a midrange edgelit set with average specs. Only get either the x9300e or x9000e. BTW OLEDs can produce a max of about 700 nits and drop rapidly to 300-400 after a few seconds that's why Sony is the best for brightness.

      • Thanks for awesome tech details

  • Does anyone know if I can buy the additional warranty in store if I buy from their eBay store?
    Cheers
