Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S5 16GB G900F $199.33 AUD 2G/3G/4G (EU Version) @ PhillipDi

24

Hi All! I am selling a Brand New Samsung Galaxy s5 16GB for $199.33AUD/$155.99USD.

It is the G900F/EU Model, it works on all Australian 2G bands, 3G Bands and the following 4G bands: 1,2,3,5,7,8,20 NOT Band 28.
That means it works on All 2G and 3G Towers, All Vodaphone 4G Towers, and Most Telstra/Optus Towers but you would have 4G issues on Telstra/Optus in the Bush.

Results from WillMyPhoneWork.net https://i.imgur.com/eA0pEsH.jpg

Don't buy the G900V Model if you see it on my site as it only works on 2G and 3G Australian networks

    Australia doesn't have any 2g networks.So only 3g unless you're Voda.

    • -3

      Vodaphone do….
And Western Australian Rural vodaphone said they will keep it for a while

  • DUAL SIM?

    /

    • No single I'm afraid, I think the Dual Sim one has a different model nuber (not G900F)

      • Thanks for reply, will pass

  • +2

Voda are closing their 2g network at the end of March. Edit : End of April.

    • -4

I'm told by a mate who's a farmer out in Rural Western Australia that Vodaphone will take over the 2G network over there, and I'm told of some cases of 2G that will still continue to be used in some cases, plus its not gone yet so I thought I would mention it :)

      • +6

According to the AMTA Voda were going to close at the end of March. Voda are now saying that they will finishing the 2g network at the end of April. This is coming from their websites, not "a mate".

          @phillipdi:

Take my advice or don't, but people are not going to want to deal with an ebay seller who has 97% feedback, gets snarky at legitimate points, and replies with over 20 question marks at the end of a sentence.

          Regarding your comment:

I mean imagine if you had a room of 100 people, and only 3 left negative feedback and were later contacted, compensated or corrected, personally that would not bother me and odds are, I'm going to be one of the 97 people. If your saying 3% is bad, why ignore the 97?

97 of the orders may have gone through without a hitch, and 3 had issues. In the case of the 3 that had issues, 100% of them reported a bad experience. That's why people care about seller ratings on a website renowned for anything below 98 being considered low.

        • @Cubist: So what was the legitimate point? that 2G is being switched off by Vodaphone? And I'm selling a Phone that's 3G and 4G compatible, as well as 2G compatible, should I have not mentioned the 2G compatible part?

And don't forget 100% of people report a bad experience, but closer to 40/50% bother to report they had a positive experience.

If your using paypal, as a buyer, whats to worry about?

        • +4

          @phillipdi:

I leave feedback on every positive purchase I make, and I am far more likely to not report on a less than satisfactory dealing because I know how bad negs look on a service where 98% is low.

Regarding the downsides of PayPal disputes… Being without a phone for x amount of days, being without the cash to buy another phone for that period if you are on a tight budget, having to organize return postage, having to wait additional time after your money has been refunded for your next purchase to be delivered, being left in a state of limbo because you don't know if PayPal will side with you regardless of how much proof you have… PayPal disputes suck.

Either way, don't want to spend my day arguing with you over whether I am right or not in deciding who I shop from… Just making an observation that dealing with you doesn't look like something I would opt into voluntarily.

        • -1

@Cubist: Fair enough, your opinion is your opinion but I can tell you most people don't bother leaving positive feedback, I'm a seller and I know how important it is but I often just don't have the time

        • +3

@phillipdi: arguing with potential customers even when you think you are right is a bad look…..Doesnt give them confidence that they wont get the same treatment in the event of an issue…. business 101.

        • -7

@pointnlarf: You know this is a forum right? An Internet forum?

        • +4

@phillipdi: Yes I realise very well as a business owner …Even more reason to be careful how you come across. Dont believe me but just see over the next little while how the +ve and -ve votes flow… Let them guide you :)

        • +3

          @phillipdi:

Wow ! I was only bringing this information to people if they were under the impression that they could use this or any phone for that matter, on a 2G network. Yes, this hour they can use it if they are with Vodafone. One carrier, not multiple carriers. However in 6 weeks time they won't. You are advertising the specs of the phone as with 2G compatabaiity and I think it is a rather mute point. bordering on misleading.

I appreciate that you are trying to do some business, maybe try to be a little less harsh. People will be turned off by your negative and belittling attitude. If you are aware of their websites, maybe read them. Funny that you wrote " was compatible on 2G networks ", not "is compatible ".

        • -1

@omblygombly: Because the majority of providers have turned it off.

        • +2

@omblygombly: I think you meant moot point rather than mute point but then again you are having an argument with a guy who doesn't know the difference between your and you're so I guess you win.

Ebay feedback below 97% worries me a bit:
    https://feedback.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&…

    • -2

I do contact every buyer who has left negative feedback and I sort out the issue even though they can't remove the feedback, 99% of the time people DON'T contact you about their issue and just leave negative feedback.

I mean imagine if you had a room of 100 people, and only 3 left negative feedback and were later contacted, compensated or corrected, personally that would not bother me and odds are, I'm going to be one of the 97 people. If your saying 3% is bad, why ignore the 97?

      • +2

        "they can't remove the feedback"
pretty sure they can, unless something has changed

        • You can only have like 3 feedbacks revised every 6 months, even if you only sell 2 items total you get the same number, it should be percentage based but its not

        • @phillipdi:
          I see, cheers

  • +3

Redmi 5 Plus on sale would be a much better option at the same price and isn't 4 years old running an outdated OS

  • +2

a bit sketchy claiming it's brand new, compared to new on the website, please state clearly which one is the correct one.

    • -2

?? Brand New mate. Last I checked the words New and Brand new kinda mean the same thing.
Let's not get into semantics, its a BRAND NEW Phone, in the box and everything

  • -6

You are not allowed to sell these phones anymore

    • What do you mean? Why?

  • +4

how do you provide warranty in australia on your brand new Samsung S5 ?

    • -2

Yes we have a 12 month warranty its at the bottom of the specification, you can see our FAQ for warranty info

  • +4

OP if you run the store you should have the Store Rep icon selected and not associated….am I correct? Im starting to feel that this account is trolling the real owner of the website cause noone in their right mind would respond so unprofessionally.

If Im not close with that one then….

Coming Soon …… phillipdi.com GOING OUT OF BUSINESS SALE!!!!!

  • -1

damn op you get a lot negs for no reason some times, i feel bad for you bro.

    • on the eBay account?

  • +9

Negging due to major issue with vendor. Associated OP's attitude when dealing with shoppers' concerns remains as lamentable as in previous posts. His unnecessarily argumentative stance is counter-productive to confident shopping and demonstrates inability to take OzBargain seriously, although OP needs OzBargain, OzBargain does not need OP. It is not our fault nobody else wanted these phones.

  • What do you mean nobody else wanted his phones? Do you know how many I have sold?
And sorry you have an issue with my "stance" and not the deal itself.

    • +8

No, we don't know how many phones you have sold, but I am quite the certain the number would have been more had someone else handled customer service.

  • +5

Negging for the same reasons as PJC.

    • So theres nothing wrong with the deal then Wystri ?

      • +4

        Negative Vote
        Purpose:
To let others know about issues with the deal, merchant or product.

        Furthermore, this …

Yes we have a 12 month warranty its at the bottom of the specification …

        … is not that …

PhillipDi.com also has a 2-year warranty on all of our products

        • thakns for pointing that out, I'll fix it now to 24 months, the 2 years would have always stood, sorry for the typo you found after a few hours after neging it already on personal grounds. Cheers

        • +7

@phillipdi: It is a matter of record I negged 42 minutes ago. My grounds were not personal. Your manner of dealing with comments and inquiries is appalling and unprofessional and far from an effective way to sell to Australia's largest buying community.

      • +7

When I buy something from an Australian vendor I expect to also get good customer service, your lack of professional etiquette in responding to potential customers in your previous deals puts me off for fear if the product should fail in having to contact customer support.
You have also cancelled successful eBay bid's because it did not sell for the price you wanted and and have cancelled purchases because you felt you could sell it for a higher price.
However for this particular S5 model this is the cheapest that I could find on eBay for that you deserve credit, but when I buy from from Australian retailers I expect good customer service should anything go wrong.

  • +3

Why on earth would you buy one of these things unless you like retro? It's like buying an old fashioned dial up wired phone.

    • +4

Yeah, I got a Xiaomi mi A1 in November for $257, I absolutely love it 2 of the benifits that I really like are excellent battery life and it never gets hot only warm when charging.

  • +3

These phones are not only stuck on version 5, but no more security updates to them either. So not great if you are a security conscious user.

    • +4

Oh yeah I forget that the S5 isn't getting more updates, that makes my Xiaomi mi A1 even better being Android one utile be getting updates for 2 years.

  • +8

Negging due to poor rep's conduct as stated by others.
