I've come across this deal for students (sign up using .edu email address) on Belong Mobile.
Similar to their normal deal (of 15GB + 30GB welcome data), but also comes with $40 credit on signup.
I'm not sure whether that $40 credit is account credit (for a free month), or some sort of funny money, can't seem to find that info anywhere.
No mention of an expiry, asides from connecting by the end of the year (31/12/2018).
Note that calls and texts are addons.

That's correct, it's the way Belong structures its plans. Calls and Texts (for National or National/International) cost more ($5 and $10 per month respectively)
This is not so popular because:
•it's been free before
•you can't instantly cancel
Ah, thanks, good to know. I did a search to see what Belong had offered before, and didn't see the better offer.
Found they cancelled my sim when asked within 10 minutes.(via online portal)
maybe i was lucky tho.
Can port away before your next billing date
(after using the data from the sim…just need the account number that comes with the invoice you receive within a week of activating sim)
I used the mobile number when porting away to Optus and it worked.
I have also but one port did not work
and so had to find the invoice and grab the account number from that…
Joined, bought a half price 40 starter kit using a edu.au email address on sign up, and I didnt get $40 credit. Anybody else having issues?
The page in the link doesn't say students only, but I will try shortly.
Edit - Got 30GB bonus using student email address; now I need to figure out how to cancel the monthly billing.
