I think it is the CLP-315 as well…not a bad price for the quality…!!!
Looks more like the CLP-325: http://www.samsung.com/au/consumer/print-solutions/print-mul…
Yes particularly with the RRP being quoted.
And the white top and buttons match in the COTD image.
If they:
- don't say what brand it is
- they show a picture without saying this is what it is
- they write the words "mystery brand" over the picturethen I thought (but am not certain) that they can put a picture of any printer they want … ???
Does anyone know if they have to supply the printer that was pictured?
I would guess that showing the correct printer (though not necessarily in a way that makes it easily identifiable) would help in the case of, for example, preventing someone who wasn't happy with the printer they got demanding a refund on the basis that the advertising was deceptive. I would guess they could get away with not showing a printer at all (just a picture of a "mystery" question mark, for example) but not a different printer.
if so, good quality printouts i'm quite sure, but check the cost of toners, the samsung needs 3 colour and 1 black toner and the starter toners only give you ~700 colour prints
Any idea, How much it costs to replace toners?
Around $250 for Genuine Samsung and around $150 for Generic ones.
Thanks. Is it for all toners or each?
All 4 toners. These toner prices are quite normal because I own a Brother HL-2140 Mono right now and the original toner for that costs me around $90. So, considering there are 4 toners required in this printer $250 does not look too bad. Guess, it just depends on individual needs.
probably more than $250. However, you can buy from Amazon for $99US (three color toners). Warning: if it's CLP-315, then it gives out a very bad smell during print. For this reason I hardly use mine.
The question is if it ships with the starter toner? If yes good value … but it might come without any toner … not sure … I personally think it will ship with a set of toners.
Does any one know if there is any way to ask cotd about this?
You can try to send them an email … or just take the risk and take up their money back guarantee :-).
I just read up on a few reviews and it looks like it is not the best printer.Example:
http://www.testberichte.de/p/samsung-tests/clp-325-testberic… (GERMAN) but you see that the printer came last in the test)http://www.testfreaks.co.uk/printers/samsung-clp-325/
http://www.wellwisher.co.cc/2010/samsung-clp-325-small-quiet…
Looks like high toner costs and not the best quality.
But still very good value entry model for this price.
Usage note
(1) * standard pages (ships with 1,000 pages Starter Toner Cartridge) * Declared yield value in accordance with ISO / IEC 19798
(2) * standard pages (ships with 700 pages Starter Toner Cartridge) * Declared yield value in accordance with ISO / IEC 19798
can i pay with my mystery banknotes?
You might need to get the printer to print them first ;-)
Anyone's printer shipped yet???
I ordered on 19 December and still have not yet received the printer.
Emailed to them and got a response back saying there were some warehouse issues which have since been resolved and the printer would be despatched soon….. that was 2 days ago.
So, what printer was it?
Don't know. Still waiting.
Thanks.
Are they selling a mystery brand netbook now too, or was that someone else?
Finally received mine - it is a Samsung CLP-325. I am pretty happy with it, though was hoping that it would be more of a discount considering it was a 'mystery printer'. It retails for about $209 online ex delivery.
Got mine today too, oh and I saw the other day Harvey Norman have them for $199 atm. So you could get them for $190 from Officeworks (unless they have adjusted their pricing).
Overall I am pretty peeved that COTD took so long to deliver the printer (1 month to receive is a joke) and can't say I'll ever be using them again in any hurry…
Bet this is it:
