  • https://www.dwidigitalcameras.com.au/sony-playstation-vr-gra… $350~ if you don't mind grey stock / waiting for shipping

    • it's not V2 Model it's Old V1 model.

      • Yep…the DWI looks like the old V1 version….not the V2 at JB

        • Besides HDR is it really worth paying extra for the newer one?

        • +1

@stussy: A couple of things really.

HDR (pretty important considering without it you have to constantly plug/unplug the hdmi from the breakout box to the console everytime you want to play normal/vr if you have HDR TV)
          Better position earphones
          Power adapter (for grey import)

        • @Letrico:

Never used PSVR is it similar to the rift playing wise doesn't it just plug and play straight from the console like the rift on pc?

        • +1

@stussy: Yes pretty much. There will be a sensor in the PSVR headset to turn on the inner display like the Rift but PSVR works with normal games in non VR mode too. Like having Virtual Desktop on Rift all the time.

The breakout box is just to convert the signal to the headset regardless if the game is VR or not. It's like putting a 65 inch TV right in your face lol.

  • Is there any way to tell from looking at this (I can't see any, personally?) if this is the original V1 or V2 with HDR passthrough?

    • +1

Happy to be corrected if im wrong….but this is the V2 model. You can tell by the triangle type shape inside the circle swivel at the back by your ears (can be seen in the pic) The V1 was just a indented round circle.

      • Thanks, I knew the differences were subtle I just wasn't sure what specifically to look for on the headset.

      • Yeah seems like they have them anyone wanting to by them should be looking for the following model number on them CUH-ZVR2

I'd also be half tempted to Neg the deal but it's not Op's fault that Sony have literally broken their promise made in October that the original price drop to $449 for the bundle was going to be the new price permanently they made this announcement 2 weeks after they reduced the price on the the V1 bundle which coincided with the announcement of V2 bundle. (obviously to stop the slew of returns)

If it's a CUH-ZVR1 it's a rip off considering PS did just do a major dump of the version 1 Bundle for just under $200 US which might have been hopefully the last of the old crop if you don't care about the HDR I'd suggest looking on Us websites. to see if they have the old bundle left for half the price.

I just picked one up in Perth. It's V2.

  • $10 more for a couple extra games included at gamesmen. Add shipping for most people not close to their store though. There are a few different bundles available.
