840

Back again for free is this gem of a movie, relive your childhood memories or share some new ones with your children if they haven't experienced it yet.

Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town is 10 years old today. This means he is now old enough to become a Pokémon Trainer. Ash dreams big about the adventures he will experience after receiving his first Pokémon from Professor Oak.

You can watch it by clicking on the play button at the top of the linked page, looks like it's in HD to me.

Run Time: 96 Minutes

As always, enjoy!

Nostalgia. Anyone else grow up with Pokémon on Cheez TV 16+ years ago?

    • +4

Yes sir, 12+ years ago for me, sitting at before school care playing Pokemon cards while watching the show on cheez tv. I didn't cherish those days enough.

      • +5

Pokemon cards were the best. Used to mow the lawns just to get enough money to buy them! I still have those Pokemon 3D cards from the chips packets. Fond memories of getting those 19 years ago.

        Classic jv. Pokémon itself.

My kids watched it a few weeks ago. Our local library got some copies.

        Classic team rocket comment

thks to cable tv viewers in the usa many pokémon movies got recorded from i think nickelodeon, cartoon channel or one of those other kids channels ….. it’s how you got to watch them before released on dvd or tv in australia.

  • +2

Hasn't he been 10 for like the last 15 years?

    • +1

yeah, his feminine side makes him lie about his age.

  • Don't think its HD, maybe 480p?

    • +1

Inspecting source contains "pk_m20_i-choose-you_hd1080_2398_2ch_en" so possibly it might just be low bitrate.

      • a lot of people code 480p and 720 p at 1080p, think it’s to get more hits on their web pages if they host “fan based” web sites with movies and also no upsclaing issues for people who have 1080p play back systems that don’t upscale properly.

        • +1

This is the official Pokemon website, not some "fan based" website.

Meh, I have this on tape already.

    • +2

      VHS?

      • Yeah, took my vcr to buy grandparents place, taped a "civic video" rental

        • +2

So you are the reason all of the video shops closed down…

        • +1

@djkelly69: Not at all, I was one of the kids keeping them in business! I actually supported the video shops by borrowing their tapes, and then cloning them.
Blockbuster Video were even better when they rented out PC-CDROM games. 56k modems of the 1990's were enough for 100kb crack.exe files, but not entire ISOs.

        • +1

          @djkelly69: No.. the internet is.

        • +3

@idonotknowwhy: i remember the cops knocking on our door to tell us we left our car lights on, and my brother thought they were going to bust him for burning all those games from blockbuster, so he legged it up the street with his book of 300 burnt cds. The cops were like wtf?

        • +2

          @cannedhams: LMAO!

    • +3

I think you're thinking of a different movie. This one came out just last year, doubt it got a VHS release.

      • +3

My bad, I thought it was the Mew vs Mewtwo one.

  • Dont know if I want to relive my childhood, but free Pokémon movie is cool!

  • +1

    quality is 720p @ 1687kbps

    • What's the bitrate on the 1080 stream?

  • +2

    Meowth thats right!

  • +2

nice new pokemon movie, its kinda like a remake. also good that they kept the team rocket scene to a minimum.

  • I remember loving Pokemon. I only saw the first 2.5 seasons then I missed too many episodes and wasn't able to catch up so never went back.

Does it get better, worse, or stay the same?

  • +1

I upvote only because it's Pokemon. My childhood.

  • as a now slightly older human being, looking back on the concept of pokemon is intersting: parents let their 10 year old children run free, to randomly catch animals and sleep outdoors every night, for the foreseeable future, mainly with other strange children and adults who…still sleep in the wild and catch wild animals. the regular team consists of 2 teenage males and 1 teenage female who wears hot pants and a crop top, once again, all camping together.

    • team rocket never getting arrested for repeated stalking, harassment and attempted theft on a 10 year old

  • Pikachu is an eletric type Pokemon.

  • I dont see a play button
