Argh, so tempted to just buy one as we've just moved into a place with hardwood floors.. Got a couple of big rugs though and judging by comments above it seems it's not as easy to just buy the motorhead separately :(
Im also moreorless in the same boat…have 3 bedrooms with carpets and rest all are laminate / tiles..so wondering if i should go with this or not..
After speaking with Dyson's live chat, she said it wouldn't work properly on carpets or rugs and it's not possible to buy motorheads that are exclusive to other models. It's purely a hard floor vacuum.
Hate the fluffy motorhead. Everything just sticks to it and unless you constantly clean it you just end up spreading the muck around the house.
The dyson fluffy also includes a mini motorized head which can be used on carpet as per the dyson rep this morning. I'm not sure how effective it will be if it's a thick rug. She said the mini motorised head works fine in the car etc

How crap, Dyson are always forcing product differentiation with BS things like this. Why wouldn't there just be 2 contacts on the extention so that this would work?
You should probably confirm it before attacking Dyson like that. jjjjj is wrong, the mini motorised head can be attached to the stick. It will take a very long time to vacuum a room with it though.
@eug: thanks for the correction, probably should take comments for granted but the community here is pretty spot on. Would be perfectly fine for doing a couple of rugs though

I have a cheap Aldi robot vac, no where near as good as the Xiaomi but I have a small enough place that it doesnt matter. The robot vac IMO is a game changer, as long as you clear your floors of debris they do an amazing job.
TBH I have almost stopped vacuuming altogether because of the robot vac, so if you just had to buy one I would go the Xiaomi in a heartbeat. It will matter less to you which vac you are pushing around because you will be hardly ever doing it. I was thinking of getting this dyson deal but I don't think you need a great vacuum to supplement a robot one

I've bought stuff from them before for my Kenwood Chef and never had any problems.
This turned up pretty quickly and I discovered that not all v6 attachments are the same. Initially it wouldn’t fit and closer inspection revealed the plastic around the Motorhead pins was bigger than the fluffy Motorhead.
I ended up making it fit by trimming the plastic with side cutters and a dremel and now fits/ works perfectly so be aware of that if you do get this. Sides and centre plastic needed to be trimmed slightly.
Was about to purchase but then saw the new V7 has been released with longer battery life, better suction and automatic hygienic bin emptying…good price but the improvements will be worth the extra price.
Not ideal that Dyson deleted all the customer reviews for the fluffy from their website.

@Scab: just confirmed with Dyson, this one has a motorised head. I have a barrel vacuum which does not have a motorised head. Only their upright and handheld ones have a motorised head.
