Worth getting? I potentially need one.

    • +2

      Yes.

    • i bought one on the last amazon deal, cant be happier! the only thing i wish they have is a spout on the smaller jar (that's where I make my smoothies daily)

    • Blender /= Food Processor.

      • -3

        sorry typo

I wouldn't buy a food processor less than 1000 watts

        • +1

This is an outstanding machine (at least in its earlier iterations, all around 600-750W). I've commented on one or two previous offers.

    • +1

What the heck are you processing?

This does all the usual stuff, if you want blended food, use a blender.

      • +1

        Probably rocks.

      • He's the 'will it blend' guy.

    • That's very naive.

  • +1

Can anyone enlighten me - what are the common meals/dishes you use these for?

    • +3

guacamole, any dips, marinades, grinding meat (for burgers for example), pesto, curry paste, desert mixture, making healthy snacks (mix dates with cocoa and cashews for a bar etc),

      • +2

        Shred vegetables easily too

      • +1

Nice! These can grind beef into mince then? From what cuts?

      • I will give you a tip, you can use a stick blender for $20 to make dips. I will tell you my cheap trick to make hummus, open a can of chickpeas pour out some of the liquid not all then just blend in a can after you added flavourings. Very quick, easy.

      • Can it chop meat into pieces not minced?

    • +3

i've been making almond butter, cashew butter, almond milk. yums!

      • Will give this a go.

        • +2

          you must!!!!

almond milk is so easy (make sure use roasted ones, $9ish for 750grams on ALDI) the pulp can be reused to make bliss balls a.k.a energy balls or toast it and sprinkle on your cereal. zero waste there!

cashew butter takes 3-4 minutes to make on high settings, mix it with chia seeds or other nuts. YUM!

almond butter takes roughly 10-15 minutes but you can speed it up by toasting the nuts before hand to help release the oil faster.

        • @ulun-lpg: Peanut butter too?

        • +1

          @blackfrancis75:

i havent make a peanut butter before, may do so in the future. they are cheaper to buy when it's half price at coles/woolies by mayvers as they are 100% peanuts (at least they claim so)

edit: wording from nut to peanut!

        • @ulun-lpg:

i've been making almond butter, cashew butter,

          I'm confused

        • @blackfrancis75:

right, when you say peanut, it took it as a normal peanut.
I was referring to nut butter, but not specifically PEAnut :)

We bought one when it was last on special for $78.99 and haven't regretted it.
One of the blade attachments was missing (as at least one other mentioned on the previous deal), but as Amazon pointed out when I called them, their photo didn't include the attachment despite the manual listing it.

Either way, Amazon were very good and gave us a $15 account credit, as we had to go through the Braun spare parts manufacturer in Melbourne to get the missing part ($18 delivered).

    Would recommend the processor/blender.
For the price, you can't go wrong.
Also, significantly cheaper than some of the others on the market, despite a lot of them being given poorly reviewed.

    • Which part was missing?

      • +1

        Coarse slicing insert B

        • Thanks!

        • +5

I bought from the same deal and mine was missing the same piece! I contacted Braun directly as I'd heard Amazon customer service was a bit underwhelming. Braun apologised, said "of course it should have been included" and sent one to me very quickly, at no cost.

Great machine, I would recommend it to anyone looking to buy a food processor!

        • i didnt even realise, i must get it!

    • Can i ask, when you turn it on, does both blades turn on? Can you only power up one side at a time?

      • Only one side at a time.

      • I have earlier model and you cannot fit 2 jars at same time there is an part in the middle that moves to sides and would not let you have two jars attached at same time.

I am ordering one anyway although I have one working at home because only large jar itself is $50 if you will have to buy one.

We have been using one from last 11 years without any regrets.

  • I've been dithering about buying this for about 10 days now. Seeing it posted here made up my mind for me. I'll find space for it somewhere in the kitchen.

Thanks to camcollins and stig for comments about the blades, I'll check it carefully when it arrives to make sure I've got all the bits.

  • Got this for $64.79.

For those who still have the Amex 10% off Amazon.com.au goods, this is a good one to use it on.

  • Wife bought one of these about 7-8? years ago and still going fine - paid about twice this price. Only complaint is that the chopper blades need sharpening - but just up the speed, and that the speed markings on the front panel wear off. Hers did not include the juicer, dough mixer and whatever the other thing is (juicer body?).
One neat feature is that you can add liquid to the small mixer while running through an opening in the lid.
Have a close look at the pics and you'll see that the left hand container is not actually mounted - as HTTP404 said, there is an interlock to prevent both being mounted simultaneously. However, both the drives rotate.
If the quality has held up, well worth the purchase.

  • are they any good for nutbutter?

    • -1

No but it can make a mean trufflebutter

  • Bought one, cheers OP!

  • +1

i literally just stood in front of a food processor for about 3 minutes deciding whether or not it was worth $150 before finally forcing myself to walk away… and now I see this… I can't walk away from $72. Damn you OP!

  • Cheers OP! Been looking for one for a while. 👍

  • +1

    Thanks OP! great deal :D

  • +1

    Snapped one up thanks OP.

  • That green colour is just hideous. Why did they do that?
