360

Just received an email from Ikea. special event + $10 off $100 spend. time to stock up on Ladda batteries.

Check your own emails as coupon/bar code is probably unique (mine ends in 705)

Hi Altomic,

You're invited to an exclusive one-night only event for IKEA FAMILY members at your local IKEA North Lakes store.

You might remember a couple of months back, we held a competition to help 10
IKEA FAMILY members around Australia with a complete living room makeover.

The makeovers are now complete and we'd love to share the first look of a fantastic result, recreated in-store.

Come and see the smart organisation and storage solutions we've used, have a chat with our interior designers and enjoy some Swedish nibbles. There might be the perfect inspiration for your living room there too! Imagine IKEA + you…

Applicable in ACT, NSW, QLD & VIC stores only.

Customers who attend the IKEA + you event and swipe their IKEA FAMILY card on the night, can save $10 when they spend $100 in a single transaction in-store.

Offer is valid between 01/03/18 - 02/03/18 and based on stock availability. Sorry no rain checks.

Offer is available to customers who receive a call or email from IKEA regarding this offer. Cannot be used in conjunction with any other IKEA FAMILY/IKEA BUSINESS offer. For full terms and conditions for spend and save, click here.

This offer is only open to qualifying customers who make a transaction during the
‘Promotional Period’ on purchases at IKEA Richmond, IKEA Springvale (Victoria), IKEA
Rhodes, IKEA Tempe, IKEA Marsden Park (New South Wales), IKEA Logan, IKEA
North Lakes (Queensland) or IKEA Canberra (ACT) stores.

  • Great, 13 packs of this for $93.87!
Nothing can replace my Eneloop collection but I can always start a new collection.

Edit: Probbaly good idea to add the charger and mix then match 11 packs
    Total cost approx $91.90

Now I should be at least challenge Brodent's Eneloop battery collection

Does anyone know how the ikea LADDA AAA 900mah compare against the kogan AAA 800mah, other than the mah and cost?

I have bought a couple of lots of the kogan batteries, mainly to get myself over the $120 order amount,
so just curious is it may be worth picking up some ikea batteries as well.

      • +1

I believe the Ladda batteries are made in Japan… so maybe they are almost as good as the Eneloops.

I know the Aldi one's are China made and cheap, but not sure how they compare with Ikea ones.
Even Coles branded batteries has decent feedbacks.

Not sure about Kogan - But they are even cheaper than Aldi!

        kogan ones are shit.

I had a set of the AA. their capacity was craptacular. I measured the capacity in my LiitoKala Lii-500. I forget the amount but it was waaaay less than advertised. further more the Aldi and LADDA are LSD. Kogan are regular rechargable. they are a waste of money

Not vs the Kogan ones, but someone did comparison against the Eneloops themselves:

        https://petapixel.com/2018/02/16/eneloop-pro-20-batteries-ik…

        Seems they're pretty identical.

Also valid in SA (and likely WA)

    • +1

Can confirm, I got this email from WA

  • +1

I'd go if it were $10 off every $100 spent

  • +1

My code ends in 705 as well so my guess is that it's generic

Sucks how the WA (and I assume SA also) got bought out and absorbed into the overall IKEA group. The monthly discounts were great, saved $1000's using those for our renos. This ain't bad though, think it was usually $15 or so off $100 under the old scheme?

    • Didn't know that was the reason for the change!
But our prices were generally higher, so I'm not convinced it's such a bad thing.
I bought an IKEA item in VIC (I was there on holiday) and even including the taxi far out to Richmond and back to the CBD I was better off than buying the same item in the SA store!

      • Yeah I think the group that had WA and SA were Cebu I think it was under franchise agreement, IKEA bought the franchise out but still lease the property, or may have purchased that too not entirely sure. And very true, their sales on the products were better (when we were given just discounts.) But funnily enough when looking at a sink just this morning there was still a difference (wife wants a black sink, I'm not convinced..) Found it when looking for a review that price popped up, bugger!

    • I miss the monthly discounts :( And I'm definitely not going out of my way at an inconvenient time to save a petty $10

Don't spend 100 and save 100.I know I could be expelled for saying this here.

Hmmm, no 'exclusions for gift cards' or 'single-use-only' conditions in the T/C… Could go through the checkout a few times and get multiple gift cards?

  • Last time I was there they had the Ikea scrubbing brushes for roughly 50c rather than the $1.50, if you had a family membership. My card doesn't currently work so I'm getting a new one, but you can get temporary ones in the store.

    • If you have Android Pay or (I'm assuming Stocard for iOS), you can add your IKEA Family card

      • Thanks, will look into this.

      • +1

Stocard is on Android too. Great app!

  • +1

I've just called them, it can only be used ONCE and excludes gift vouchers, restaurant and the food market.

    • Useful info - Thanks!

  • It surprises me that Ikea don't have fairdinkum delivery outside of the immediate area- isn't the point of flat-packing cost effective delivery?

    http://www.ikea.com/ms/en_AU/customer_service/postcalc/Postc…

    Home Delivery from IKEA Rhodes
    $540

    Home Delivery from IKEA Tempe
    $420

  • It's a shame the wireless charging pads are unavailable until April/July due to supply constraints.

  • +1

OP, how'd you get the invite? I have membership but I've never received an email from IKEA for any promotion.

    • +2

      i slept with the manager.

      • do you ever get Ikea emails?
have you marked them as junk/blocked them?
        used another email address?
        pissed off the swedes?

        • probably said the does not like meatballs.

        • @Bond: I didn't get that email either…..

        • Not marketing ones. Just account management ones.

I check my spam folder regularly. No go.

Nope, got the right one. Can even log into the IKEA Family website.

I don't think so? But if I have done so unknowingly, I sincerely apologise to all Swedes who may be reading this.

        • @griftr:

yeah I never get them either :/

      • Thanks! Now i understand where I went wrong.

  • So definitely not $10 off for every $100 spent? I'm going to buy all our built-in kitchen appliances from Ikea, are there ever sales etc on these?

  • I RSVP'ed to my local 'IKEA + you' event but there was no mention of a code.

Remember the crucial condition according to the OP - you have to physically attend the event.
